The Cognizant Workday Practice is seeking Financials Consultants with Financial Management systems experience and expertise in Grant Management among other business processes within Workday Financials. As a Workday Financials Principal Consultant on the Continuous Value Services team, you will work with a variety of customers, diving headfirst into postproduction support & optimization to clients that are live on Workday Financials. Additionally, you must have a technical aptitude and be capable of configuring the product to meet the business requirements and design specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the day-to-day activities of Workday Financials post production client support for a variety of customers consisting of ticket-based support, staff augmentation, ad-hoc support, tenant analysis, and optimizations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Workday best practices
  • Conduct sessions with customers to analyze business requirements and provide solutions to complex business problems
  • Identify strategies, risks, and options for recommending approaches towards meeting requirements for post-production customers
  • Become a Workday Financials expert with deep knowledge of core functionality, and understands touch points with FDM, HCM, Integrations, Payroll and future product direction
  • Mentor other consultants by actively sharing product knowledge with others to grow our practice
  • Support business development activities such as identification, proposal development, and other pursuit activities
  • Support a team-oriented, challenging and innovative work environment designed to promote and maintain the Cognizant Workday Practice core values
  • Work closely with engagement managers and team members to identify project needs and develop solutions and strategies
  • Drive the practice to achieve high customer satisfaction level,
  • Ability to discuss various accounting entries/processes within Workday Financials

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of Workday Financials Functional implementation or post production support experience required.
  • Proficiency with business processes including: grant management, general ledger, budgeting, cash management, grant management, chart of accounts re-design, procure-to-pay, purchase order conversions, expense management, fixed asset management, and/or order-to-cash required.
  • At least 1 Workday Financials Core Certification (Record to Report, Procure to Pay, or Contracts to Cash) preferred
  • Advanced/Composite Reporting certifications preferred
  • Workday Strategic Sourcing certification preferred
  • Experience supporting enterprise class financial management solutions (i.e. Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle etc)
  • Experience leading design, configuration, testing, and post production support, Including experience with data conversion, security configuration, process documentation, and leading architecting sessions for functional areas
  • Ability to discuss various accounting entries/processes within Workday Financials
  • Ability to walk a customer through functional and cross-functional impacts of design relating to FDM, integrations, HCM, or Payroll
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure adherence to FDM, design decisions, project governance/methodology and statement of work
  • Demonstrated initiative and experience leading/mentoring others
  • Ability to create and sustain a relationship with clients, inspiring confidence in themselves and the delivery team while driving to reference-ability.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively manage client expectations.
  • Minimal travel required, but must be willing to travel on-site if needed

Salary and Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until 08/27/2025 The annual salary for this position is between $109,459 - $144,424 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program , based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
