What We DoAssembles title packages, searches for tax documentation or performs other research related to escrow and title closings. Work is done in an office, title plant or remotely traveling to court houses, municipalities and other government entities to perform the searches. Assignments are varied and complex and require breadth and depth of experience. May act as a subject matter expert; can perform all the work that the unit supports; can search multiple file/product types. Acts as a resource to less experienced team members. Has broad geographic knowledge of state practices and requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Performs a wide range of title research requiring considerable judgment, independent analysis and detailed knowledge.  Documents all research

  • Conducts title research to compile search packages covering a wide range of complexity. 

  • Investigates and interprets tax records in order to determine tax liability.

  • Work is similar to that performed by intermediate level, but handles more complex, less routine or escalated transactions, based on level of experience and competency.

Supervision Received or Extended

  • No formal supervisory responsibility but may be a resource to less experienced team members

  • Works independently for most aspects of the job

  • Typically exercises judgment within defined policies and procedures over a broad area

  • Resolves escalated issues from team members; may escalate issues to more experienced team members/manager

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

  • Internet savvy

  • Strong MS skill set

  • Strong investigative, research, and problem solving skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of company terminology, search department procedures and tools.

  • Able to navigate company operating systems

Typical Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Typical Range of Experience

  • 3+ years related experience

License or Certification

Pay Range: $23.37 - $31.15 Hourly, Remote
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
