Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Prism Product Manager is accountable for the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of new products, capabilities, and features for multiple value streams within Synchrony’s Credit Acquisition platform (SynApps). This leader will drive cross-functional alignment across business owners, Product Owners, technology partners, and Prism pillar teams to deliver measurable outcomes that grow the business and optimize credit acquisition processes.

This role requires a highly effective product leader and stakeholder manager-someone who can navigate competing priorities across a matrixed organization, lead difficult conversations, surface risks early, and drive timely decisions. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator who can translate business strategy into clear priorities, simplify complex topics for leadership as well as delivery teams, and ensure commitments are understood and met.

Our Way of Working:

We’re proud to offer you flexibility. At Synchrony, our way of working allows you to have the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events.

*Field Sales and some Commercial team roles may have varied location requirements based upon partner obligations or preferences.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own product strategy and roadmap for SynApps value streams, ensuring alignment to Prism and enterprise objectives, and partnering with other SynApps product leaders to manage dependencies and shared platform impacts.

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of new products, capabilities, and features from discovery and definition through implementation, release readiness, and adoption.

  • Drive stakeholder alignment and decision-making across Credit Acquisition, Fraud, IT, Prism pillars, and other Agile Train teams-balancing needs, negotiating tradeoffs, and securing commitments.

  • Proactively manage difficult conversations and escalations: identify misalignment, delivery risk, scope conflicts, and blockers early; facilitate resolution with clear options and recommendations; escalate when needed.

  • Serve as the primary communicator for multiple value streams - articulating vision, roadmap, business value, priority changes, and delivery status to SynApps stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Refine and validate requirements by partnering with Product Owners, engineers, and architecture to translate business needs into well-defined features, acceptance criteria, and outcomes; ensure solution design meets intent and is scalable.

  • Own prioritization by applying product judgment, business impact, and data to maintain a transparent, defensible backlog and plan.

  • Lead PI Planning: align scope to capacity, manage dependencies, secure commitments, set stretch goals, and communicate planned vs. delivered outcomes.

  • Develop and coach Product Owners, continuously improve SynApps delivery, change control, and stakeholder engagement practices.

  • Track execution and outcomes: communicate timelines, risks, dependencies, and progress with rigor; ensure teams stay on schedule for committed changes; resolve or escalate roadblocks.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience in consumer/commercial credit management, lending, marketing, or related field in a credit card/consumer credit decisioning environment; or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience with strong technical abilities (working closely with technology teams, understanding integration/dependency impacts).

  • Understanding of Synchrony’s originations platforms: SynApps and/or Edison.

  • 3+ years Agile Product Owner (or similar) experience.

  • 2+ years Project Management experience.

  • 2+ year experience with Agile and SAFe/scaled agile methodology.

  • Demonstrated execution rigor and attention to detail (report accuracy, data integrity, delivery discipline).

  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a highly matrixed environment and hold teams accountable without direct authority.

  • Proven strength in stakeholder management-including driving decisions with senior leaders, resolving conflict, and negotiating tradeoffs.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication: SLT-ready updates, crisp facilitation, and the ability to translate complex technical work into business impact.

  • Deep expertise in credit acquisition processes; familiarity with consumer and commercial lending products and practices.

  • Experience operating strategically as part of a cross-functional leadership team.

  • Master’s Degree or MBA with advanced analytic focus (or equivalent) preferred.
