We're looking for a VP, Engineering to lead our data and software engineering efforts. This role demands a leader who bridges the gap between product vision and technical execution. You will translate complex requirements into a reliable, performant data platform that powers our analytics products. You must balance immediate product velocity with long-term architectural health.
You will report to Rameez Tase, Co-Founder & President. Antenna is a remote-first company, and we are looking for candidates who can work during US business hours. Preferably, you should be based in a US time zone (Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific).
What You’ll Do- Deliver our Product Roadmap: Translate product vision into a technical strategy with clear sequencing (now/next/later). Execute the roadmap through a highly accountable team, balancing immediate product velocity with the management of technical debt to ensure our ability to scale long-term.
- Cultivate Talent, Partnerships, and Communication: Lead a high-performance team of Engineers in deep partnership with Product Management, Data Science, and Data Operations.
- Facilitate an Engineering and Data Science partnership that turns R&D, such as ML models, into production features. Do this with speed to minimize the lag between innovation and deployment.
- Support internal analytics users such that they can configure, query, and QA our data efficiently, so we can release best-in-class analytics products.
- Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both subject matter experts and non-technical generalists to align stakeholders and manage incentives across the organization.
- Architect our data platform for both today and the future: Guarantee our data infrastructure is reliable, performant, and solves specific business questions.
- Ensure we are managing the tradeoffs between short-term and long-term technical strategy decisions.
- Focus both on the data infrastructure that allows us to deliver customer value as well as the specific insights & analytics we provide on top of that infrastructure.
- Lead AI Initiatives: Direct Antenna’s AI strategy. Implement AI technologies to enhance internal productivity, scale data collection & cleansing, and improve customer interfaces.
- Expert understanding of modern data stacks, including cloud data warehouses, ETL/ELT, orchestration, streaming, and analytics layers.
- Experience designing warehouses and pipeline architectures including handling migrations and able to articulate the trade-offs of different design choices clearly.
- Expert skills in SQL, Python, GCP/BigQuery, ML Ops, Databricks/Snowflake, and dbt. Understands distributed data processing (Spark), software engineering design, and data modeling concepts.
- Experience scaling early-stage technical organizations; ability to zoom into a specific technical problem and zoom out to define long-term strategy within the same day.
- Have worked closely with Data Science teams to productionize R&D. Have direct experience with analytics products, and a deep passion not only for the architecture but also the business logic.
- Managed remote and nearshore teams effectively while maintaining a unified "one team" culture across different geographies.
- Built products that utilize data enrichment and privacy frameworks, such as clean rooms and data sharing compliance.
- Experience in maximizing team output by structuring and resourcing teams across parallel priorities (i.e. squads).
- Experience maintaining productive relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and founders and executives.
- Strong point of view on how to best leverage AI technologies to accelerate development velocity while maintaining high product quality.
Total annual earnings range from $250,000 - $300,000. In addition, our incoming VP, Engineering is eligible for company equity. The final compensation will be determined after evaluating a candidate’s experience, skills, etc.
