We are looking for a strategic, security-minded, and execution-focused Senior Director of Engineering to join our leadership team. This role is critical in scaling our technology organization while ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams, define the development roadmap, and embed best practices in our software delivery and organizational structure. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring technical depth, managerial experience, and an ability to align engineering initiatives with business goals.

- Lead and support the organization's efforts to maintain and expand ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type I & II compliance.
- Own IT security practices across infrastructure, product, and corporate environments.
- Oversee IT support operations, access provisioning, device management, and related systems.
- Define and evolve engineering processes, team structures, and career leveling frameworks to enable scalable product development.
- Drive performance management practices and professional development plans within the engineering team.
- Integrate AI tools and modern development practices to improve engineering velocity and product quality.
- Lead architectural discussions and support the implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
- Act as a key member of the executive team, working closely with Product, Operations, and Business leaders to align technology with strategic goals.
- Manage engineering budgets, tooling, and vendor relationships.
- Set and manage expectations across stakeholders, ensuring transparency and trust through data-driven reporting and effective communication.
- Ensure efficient provisioning and de-provisioning of access to tools and systems for employees and contractors.
- Support incident management and escalation processes in coordination with security and DevOps teams.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll need:
- 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with a strong track record of building and scaling engineering teams.
- Proven experience leading companies through ISO 27001 and SOC2 Type I & II compliance processes.
- Strong knowledge of modern software development practices, cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), and DevOps culture.
- Experience managing IT operations and security functions within a remote-first environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with executive leadership and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms.
- Experience integrating or applying AI tools in development workflows is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in a SaaS or B2B tech environment.
- Hands-on background in backend engineering, security, or infrastructure.
- Familiarity with frameworks for team scaling, OKRs, and performance metrics.
