As a Data Engineer, you'll design, build, and optimize data pipelines, collaborate with teams, and enhance data reliability and scalability.
The Data team builds and runs the data platform that powers critical product features and gives every team reliable insights. We process billions of events monthly and store more than 30TB of data, supported by 200+ data pipelines. Among the outcomes, 150+ dashboards and dozens of tools/automations help the company scale and make smarter and faster decisions.
What makes our team unique is our central role: we sit at the intersection of Product, Operations, and the Engineering. From an organizational standpoint, we’re embedded within the Engineering Tech squad, working alongside DevOps and Architects to design, build, and operate the infrastructure that powers our Product. As a Data Engineer, you’ll work side by side with our Senior Data Engineer and our Senior Data Analyst to scale our platform and deliver accurate, reliable, and well-structured data. Beyond data infrastructure, you’ll directly contribute to two key 360Learning missions: embedding AI into every team across the company and putting it in the hands of our clients.
Within 1 month, you will:
- Discover 360Learning, its platform, its teams and its culture.
- Become familiar with our data stack and ways of working.
- Understand the team’s processes
Within 3 months, you will:
- Take ownership of a data pipeline end-to-end (design, build, monitor).
- Optimize existing SQL/dbt models or ETL pipelines for performance and cost
- Collaborate with Analysts and Product squads to deliver datasets and reliable pipelines
- Contribute to improving observability (logging, alerting, monitoring) in the data stack
Within 6 months, you will
- Collaborate with other squads to deliver a Product feature
- Design and implement a real-time pipeline to serve the Product
- Become the go-to person for ETL pipelines development
Within 12 months, you will:
- Drive initiatives around data reliability, scalability, cost optimization
- Help define the Data Engineering roadmap in partnership with Product, analytics, and DevOps
- Lead the design of new components in the data platform
The Skill Set:
- 2+ years of experience in a Data Engineering or in a similar role
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficient in SQL/Python, experience with an orchestration tool (e.g. Airflow) and a data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Strong understanding of data modelling, warehousing principles, and performance optimization techniques
- Ability to break down ambiguous problems into concrete, manageable components trying to pick up the most simple and efficient solutions
- You are used to managing different types of interlocutors while exposing technical & business problems
- Listening skills: open to input from other team members and departments
- Fluent English (US/UK) / B2 level or equivalent (FR)
