Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on VP of Software Engineering to lead the development, scalability, and innovation of our marketing technology ecosystem. This leader will partner closely with Marketing, Product, and Sales to deliver high-impact digital experiences, optimize lead generation, and maximize conversion performance.
This is a player-coach role—you will not only lead high-performing engineering teams but also contribute directly to the codebase, helping drive architecture decisions and accelerate delivery. This position will report to the CIO.
What You'll Do
- Lead and scale high-performing engineering teams focused on marketing technology and customer acquisition platforms
- Contribute hands-on to system design and development, writing high-quality, production-ready code
- Drive the architecture, development, and optimization of systems supporting digital marketing, lead management, and conversion funnels
- Partner with Marketing leadership to enhance lead generation efficiency and ROI through technology innovation
- Oversee integrations across CRM, martech platforms, analytics tools, and third-party lead providers
- Champion data-driven decision-making, A/B testing frameworks, and performance optimization initiatives
- Establish engineering best practices for scalability, reliability, security, and speed-to-market
- Collaborate with Product and Analytics teams to deliver personalized customer experiences
- Manage vendor relationships and make strategic build vs. buy decisions
- Build and mentor engineering leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Own and oversee the architecture, performance, and continuous optimization of the AmeriSave website as a core marketing and lead generation platform
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including senior leadership (Director/VP level)
- Hands-on coding experience in Java, TypeScript, Node.js, and SQL, with a passion for staying close to the technology
- Proven experience leading engineering teams supporting marketing technology, digital acquisition, or customer-facing platforms
- Strong background in modern web architecture, APIs, and scalable, cloud-based systems
- Experience integrating CRM systems (Salesforce, etc.) and marketing automation platforms
- Demonstrated success partnering with Marketing and Product teams to drive measurable business outcomes
- Expertise in data-driven engineering, including analytics, performance tracking, and experimentation frameworks
- Track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fintech, mortgage, or high-volume lead generation environments
- Familiarity with martech ecosystems (CDPs, attribution tools, paid media integrations)
- Experience optimizing conversion funnels and customer acquisition strategies
- Passion for hands-on technical leadership in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- MBA or advanced technical degree

Compensation:
The annual salary for this position generally ranges between $160,000 – $225,000.
