Job Description:

GTB is a key growth business within TDS, serving Corporates, Financial Institutions, and Government clients through treasury advisory, liquidity, payment, and trade solutions. Payments and trade continue to experience rapid innovation, new market entrants, changing regulations, and evolving client expectations. As a result, GTB product teams must continuously improve payment solutions, strengthen risk and control practices, and commercialize capabilities that help clients operate efficiently and securely.

Primary Purpose: The Product Manager, Domestic Payments Product Management, is accountable for the end-to-end management of assigned payments products, services, programs, and shared capabilities. The role leads product strategy, product development, commercialization, business planning, pricing and financial analysis, market and competitive intelligence, stakeholder engagement, governance, risk and regulatory awareness, and operational excellence. The Product Manager is expected to translate client, market, regulatory, and business needs into actionable product roadmaps and delivery plans that support measurable business outcomes and a strong client experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy, Roadmap, and Commercialization
  • Own and maintain the roadmap for assigned payments products or capabilities, ensuring priorities are aligned to GTB strategy, client needs, risk appetite, regulatory obligations, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Develop and support business cases for new or enhanced product capabilities, including client value proposition, expected benefits, revenue or cost impacts, delivery dependencies, risk considerations, and implementation approach.
  • Lead product commercialization activities, including sales enablement, market positioning, launch planning, training content, client-facing materials, internal communications, and post-launch adoption support.
  • Use market, client, competitor, regulatory, and performance insights to identify new product opportunities, feature enhancements, pricing changes, operational improvements, and client experience enhancements.
Payments Product Development and Delivery
  • Partner with technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, sales, servicing, implementation, and other stakeholders to define business requirements, acceptance criteria, operating impacts, and delivery readiness for product initiatives.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional payments initiatives from concept through launch, including discovery, requirements definition, solution design, testing support, go-to-market readiness, issue resolution, and Day 2 operationalization.
  • Manage priorities across multiple product initiatives and stakeholders, balancing client impact, strategic value, financial opportunity, delivery capacity, regulatory requirements, operational risk, and control expectations.
  • Act as a payments product subject matter expert for assigned products or capabilities, providing guidance to stakeholders and helping resolve product, process, operational, and client-impacting issues.
Financial, Pricing, and Portfolio Management
  • Monitor product performance, adoption, revenue, volume, margin, expense, client usage, service trends, and operational indicators to assess product health and recommend actions.
  • Support pricing and fee strategy by analyzing product economics, competitive positioning, client behavior, profitability drivers, cost-to-serve, and revenue opportunities.
  • Develop portfolio insights and executive-level reporting that summarize trends, risks, opportunities, KPIs, delivery progress, client impacts, and recommended management actions.
  • Work with sales and relationship teams to identify client segments, use cases, and adoption opportunities for assigned payment products and services.
Governance, Risk, Regulatory, and Controls
  • Maintain strong awareness of applicable payments rules, regulatory changes, risk requirements, control expectations, and industry developments that may affect assigned products or clients.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate product, operational, regulatory, compliance, financial, and delivery risks; recommend mitigation actions and support remediation through closure.
  • Ensure product changes are supported by appropriate governance, documentation, approvals, controls, procedures, training, client communications, and operational readiness.
  • Partner with control functions to maintain a culture of risk management and control, including effective challenge, issue management, control design, and alignment to risk appetite.
Stakeholder Leadership and Communication
  • Build trusted relationships with business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, sales, servicing, implementation, and executive stakeholders to align product priorities and resolve cross-functional dependencies.
  • Prepare concise, executive-ready communications, product updates, decision materials, steering committee content, client-facing content, and internal product guidance.
  • Influence stakeholders by converting complex information into clear business context, options, recommendations, risks, and next steps.
  • Champion collaboration, transparency, continuous improvement, and a positive team environment while sharing product knowledge and mentoring less experienced colleagues as appropriate.
Scope and Complexity
  • Supports products or functional areas with moderate complexity, multiple cross-functional dependencies, and direct impact to business line objectives.
  • Operates with independence within broad policies and guidelines, using product expertise and judgment to assess options, solve complex problems, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Integrates knowledge of enterprise strategy, payment operations, client needs, technology dependencies, financial drivers, regulatory obligations, and risk/control requirements.
  • May lead workstreams or product initiatives with moderate risk, resource needs, or complexity and may guide others within area of expertise.
Job Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree, product management certificate, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in product management, payments, transaction banking, treasury services, financial services, technology delivery, operations, risk, or related disciplines.
  • Previous product management or product delivery experience typically required.
  • Strong understanding of payments products, payment rails, treasury management, client use cases, operational processes, regulatory considerations, and risk/control expectations.
  • Advanced ability to conduct product research, data analysis, forecasting, competitive intelligence, pricing analysis, business case development, and product performance assessment.
  • Experience leading product initiatives, product launches, process improvements, or cross-functional workstreams from concept through implementation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create executive-ready materials and tailor messaging for senior leaders, partners, sales teams, and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, manage ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and drive outcomes across complex stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and comply with applicable Bank policies, industry codes of conduct, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications and Assets
  • Experience in transaction banking, wholesale banking, commercial banking, treasury management, fintech, ACH, EFT, wire, real-time payments, check fraud controls, or related payment services.
  • Experience with product commercialization, sales enablement, client segmentation, market analysis, pricing, P&L support, or portfolio management.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, product owner practices, business analysis, project management, or technology delivery.
  • Strong analytical toolkit, including advanced Excel, PowerPoint, data visualization, dashboarding, and product performance reporting.
