Position Summary:

The Vice President of Finance is a strategic leader responsible for driving AffirmedRx’s financial vision, with a strong preference for experience in healthcare or pharmacy benefit management (PBM). This role oversees financial strategy, planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The VP ensures compliance with industry regulations, manages financial risk, and maintains strong internal controls across operations. They partner closely with executive leadership and department heads to improve efficiency, optimize capital allocation, and identify growth opportunities. Additionally, the role involves building and developing high-performing teams, creating scalable processes, and delivering clear financial insights to leadership and the board.

What you will do:

 Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Partner with the CFO to develop and execute financial strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Own and enhance the organization-wide budgeting and forecasting process
  • Incorporate market trends and data to drive more accurate financial planning
  • Develop and monitor long-term financial projections aligned with business goals

 Strategic Analysis and Decision Support:

  • Deliver actionable financial analysis and insights to support executive decision-making
  • Leverage industry trends, data analytics, and benchmarks to inform recommendations
  • Provide financial input on key business initiatives, including growth strategies
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, strategic guidance for leadership

 Business Partnership and Performance Management:

  • Act as a strategic partner to department leaders on financial performance
  • Track, analyze, and optimize performance against growth and efficiency targets
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial goals with operational priorities
  • Support accountability and informed decision-making across the organization

 Growth, Operations, and Strategic Initiatives:

  • Identify and implement strategies to drive growth and operational excellence
  • Provide financial expertise on contracts, vendor evaluations, and partnerships
  • Support business development activities, including capital raises and M&A
  • Contribute to evaluating and prioritizing strategic opportunities across the business

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 15+ years’ experience in related finance roles supporting budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis
  • Proven track record of financial leadership in healthcare, pharmacy benefit management, or a closely related field
  • Expertise navigating complex regulatory environments and payer-provider relationships
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with standard accounting practices. CPA certification a plus
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Familiarity with ERP financial and planning systems (Netsuite, Workday, other)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor high-performing finance teams in a growth-oriented organization
  • Demonstrated ability to translate financial insights into business strategy and operational execution
  • Experience leading long-range financial planning, capital allocation, and investment analysis
  • Track record managing capital structure, cash flow optimization, and cost containment initiatives
