JOB OVERVIEW:

The Associate Manager plays a critical role in the record to report (RTR) process, with primary responsibility for the integrity of the financial statements for their assigned business unit(s). This role oversees General Ledger accounting and provides governance over Accounts Payable activities while partnering with shared services and outsourced accounting teams.  This position is ideal for an accounting professional seeking to expand expertise in public company reporting, SOX compliance, internal controls and people leadership with a path toward future accounting management responsibilities. The Associate Manager partners closely with the Manager, Centralized Controllership as well as the business unit finance leader and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial statements, compliance with US GAAP, HS policy and audit readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead and manage the close processes, including routine interaction and collaboration with onshore and offshore resources

  • Review and approve account reconciliations, journal entries, reserve analysis, accruals, and month-end adjustments to ensure they are in accordance with US GAAP and HS Policy

  • Review and approve significant accounting estimates, judgements and reserves including (CECL, E&O, Sales Returns, Warranty etc.)

  • Lead monthly financial reviews in collaboration with FP&A resources

  • Supports treasury processes including approval of daily disbursement review, payment approval and release, hedging (where applicable) and submission of quarterly disbursement policy recertification (DPR)

  • Support A/P activities including invoice approvals and ensuring vendor statement reconciliations are performed.

  • Reviews/approves close submissions including, but not limited to, (HFM/Nimbus/Footnotes/Close Memos/Headcount schedules/Rollforwards/QDC etc.)

  • Lead internal and external audit engagements

  • Maintain effective internal control environment and partner with offshore resources on SOX tests and remediation

  • Support tax processes including income tax, property tax, and sales tax

  • Lead special projects, system implementations, and process enhancements

  • Supervise accounting staff, as required

  • Expand knowledge of public company accounting policies, disclosures, and reporting requirements

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and public company accounting requirements

  • Hands-on experience with General Ledger and Accounts Payable functions

  • Working knowledge of SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit processes

  • Experience working with auditors in a public company environment

  • Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, AS400, NetSuite, Infor, or similar)

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, lookups)

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: 

Typically 7 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; first-level manager.

                                                                                                                                       

PREFERRED EDUCATION: 

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $87,547 to $136,792 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.​

This position is eligible for bonus not reflected in the posted range.​
