Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Director / Head of Cloud AI Platform Engineering to lead the strategy, modernization, and scaled delivery of our enterprise AI platform. This role focuses on building a cohesive platform ecosystem that enables teams to develop, deploy, and operate AI solutions with speed and safety while providing consistent governance, operational excellence, and a frictionless developer experience.
As a senior technology leader, you will set long-term direction, define platform standards, and build an operating model that enables predictable delivery and measurable outcomes. You will partner with engineering, security, risk, and data teams to ensure the platform accelerates AI adoption while meeting enterprise expectations for resilience, auditability, and compliance.

Platform Architecture, Standardization & Adoption
• Set architectural direction for reusable AI platform components (pipeline standards, environment templates, model deployment/serving patterns, monitoring).• Drive adoption through self-service onboarding, curated "golden paths," and platform APIs that reduce friction for application teams.• Establish consistent patterns for multi-environment promotion, reproducibility, and secure-by-default delivery across hybrid/multi-cloud footprints.
Governance, Risk, Security & Compliance Enablement

Reliability, Operations & Cost Management
• Own operational excellence: incident response, postmortems, preventative engineering, capacity planning, and reliability targets for platform services.• Implement observability and performance management practices that provide actionable insights and reduce MTTR.• Drive cost optimization and efficiency for AI infrastructure and workloads (capacity governance, utilization, scaling strategy, and platform-level guardrails).
Leadership, Organization & Talent Development
• Lead and mentor senior leaders and engineers; build a strong culture of accountability, engineering rigor, and continuous improvement.• Develop hiring plans, career pathways, and succession strategies to sustain platform growth and maturity.• Communicate platform strategy and progress to executives and stakeholders; align priorities across teams and resolve conflicts effectively.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

• 2+ years leading AI platform / MLOps / LLMOps ecosystems and standardizing model lifecycle delivery
Desired Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise technology role frameworks and workforce/skills alignment approaches (Workday-oriented role clarity and skills)• Experience building internal platform products (service catalog / portal integration) and measurable developer experience improvements• Strong executive storytelling, stakeholder management, and the ability to influence enterprise roadmaps.
