JOB SUMMARY:
Assist Supervisor in leading the work team to ensure quality products are produced which meet the customer requirements. Ensures that standardized work is in place and followed. Serves as a facilitator to the work team in areas of problem solving, issue resolution, continuous improvement and training. Ensures that a safe and organized work environment is maintained at all times. Accessible to the production floor 100% of the time. Must be able to perform positions/tasks required to support the team. Accountable for results in area of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Achieving daily attainment requirements.
2. Reviewing downtime, scrap, and team efficiency.
3. Follow all safety rules.
4. Provide direction to employees as needed and enforce discipline through corrective action recommendations to the Supervisor.
5. Maintain 5S checklist and ensure 5S performance.
6. Perform LPA's
7. Ensure rotation and policies are followed within coverage area.
8. Run on lines covering for unplanned breaks to reduce downtime, as needed.
9. Perform pre-shift meetings.
10. Evaluate teardown / scrap reasons to identify continuous improvement activities.
11. Responsible to make quality calls based on customer standards.
12. Enforces and supports standardized work.
13. Perform tasks outlined and tracked on department specific Team Leader Standard work.
14. Participate (L1 - 3), initiate (L1 - 3), lead A3 Problem Solving and continuous improvement events (L3)
15. Able to temporarily cover the supervisor role as needed.
16. In the Supervisor's absence, determine allocation of overtime and submit requests for OT approval and assign employees to work cells/machines daily.
17. Coach and counsel employees through performance concerns.
18. You will be responsible for performing those duties listed above and responsibilities assigned to you by your Manager or his/her designees
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Demonstrates EHS leadership by setting a good example.
2. Trains and instructs employees so they can perform their work safely.
3. Instructs employees on what personal protective equipment is needed.
4. Ensure associates are trained in the safe use of equipment, material, and chemicals they will be using.
5. Enforces safe work practices and procedures and encourages workers to identify unsafe or unhealthy workplace conditions or hazards without fear of discipline.
6. Takes immediate steps to correct unsafe or unhealthy workplace hazards and ensure corrective measures are completed in a timely manner.
7. Ensures employees are aware and follow all safety rules.
8. Makes sure employee concerns related to EHS are addressed and contacts the EHS Department if assistance is needed.
9. Ensures employees report accidents and injuries immediately.
10. Is involved in the accident/incident investigation process.
11. Weekly Zero Harm engagement submissions.
