Location

This internship will be based in Charlotte, NC.

Reporting

This intern will report to the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner. 

Summary of Role 

Palmetto is seeking a motivated and curious student to join the Talent Acquisition and HRBP team for a summer internship. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience supporting real recruiting and HRBP initiatives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

The intern will gain exposure to full-cycle recruiting, early talent strategy, and core HR Business Partner work such as employee experience initiatives, while contributing to meaningful projects that support Palmetto’s growth in Charlotte. This role is structured to provide practical development while delivering measurable business value.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support full-cycle recruiting activities, including candidate outreach, interview scheduling, and candidate communications
  • Assist with early talent pipeline development, including outreach to universities and student organizations
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to coordinate interviews and maintain candidate tracking systems
  • Conduct research on local universities, student programs, and recruiting events to strengthen Palmetto’s early talent presence in Charlotte
  • Assist with employer branding and campus outreach initiatives to promote Palmetto as an employer of choice for emerging talent
  • Assist HRBPs with key People & Culture initiatives, including onboarding, engagement, and performance
  • Help analyze People & Culture data including engagement results, recruiting metrics, and workforce insights to identify trends and opportunities that improve the employee experience and team effectiveness
  • Partner with the HRBP team on projects that support organizational health and team performance, such as manager enablement resources, feedback initiatives, and employee experience programs
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge management for recruiting and HRBP programs to help scale People processes as the company grows

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year College or University
  • Coursework or prior experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or related fields
  • Interest in Talent Acquisition, HRBP, or People Operations
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills, including Google Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
