Your Opportunity: Venture Solutions is looking for a Supervisor, Application Development to join our team! This will be a hands-on technical leadership role that combines people management, technical expertise, operational excellence, and project delivery responsibilities.
This location adheres to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). All employees must undergo a federal background check, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Your Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of application developers and technical professionals.
  • Establish performance expectations and support employee growth through regular feedback and development planning.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate work assignments, priorities, and resource planning to support business objectives.

Hands-On Technical Leadership

  • Actively participate in software design, development, code review, testing, deployment, and support activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and architectural direction for application enhancements and modernization initiatives.
  • Review code quality, development standards, and adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues and assist development teams with technical problem resolution.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and development tools that improve efficiency and quality.

Application Development & Delivery

  • Lead application development efforts through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver technology solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee project execution, scope management, scheduling, and delivery commitments.
  • Ensure applications are developed with a focus on security, reliability, maintainability, and scalability.

Incident, Problem, and Change Management

  • Lead and support Incident Management activities to ensure timely resolution of production issues and restoration of service.
  • Facilitate Problem Management processes including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and prevention strategies.
  • Participate in and oversee Change Management activities to ensure planned changes are properly documented, tested, approved, and implemented with minimal business disruption.
  • Partner with Technical Operations, Infrastructure, Security, and Support teams to drive operational excellence and service reliability.
  • Monitor application health and key performance metrics and implement proactive improvements.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Support production environments and provide leadership during high-priority incidents and outage situations.
  • Drive automation, monitoring, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with established development, security, and operational standards.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity requirements.

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of application development experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or technical lead experience.
  • Experience managing enterprise applications in production environments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Experience developing applications on the Microsoft Windows platform.
  • Proficiency with C# and .NET application development.
  • Experience developing and supporting RESTful APIs and system integrations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based application architectures.
  • Experience using Git for source code management and collaborative development workflows.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with SQL Server and relational database design.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in highly available environments.
  • Strong technical leadership and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical contributions with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Deep understanding of software development best practices and SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience leading incident response, problem resolution, and change implementation activities.
  • Strong customer service orientation and business partnership skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement mindset focused on quality, reliability, and operational excellence.

  • Application availability, performance, and operational stability.
  • Effective execution of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
  • Team engagement, development, and retention.
  • Reduction in recurring production incidents through proactive problem management.

The anticipated annual salary for this position is around $85,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
