TEGNA, the parent company of 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, is looking for an innovative, experienced television producer to develop newscasts for the company’s OTT streaming platforms. Streaming is a strategic priority for the company as we evolve to meet the needs of audiences seeking timely information on breaking and developing news and severe weather on the platform they need it most. 
 
This role requires the skills of a traditional linear broadcast producer with an affinity or interest in show production. It will be delivered exclusively to customers with connected televisions and apps. We value a collaborative and motivated journalist who works well within a team to bring the truth to our growing audience across various platforms, starting with our streaming and broadcast services. 
 
Experience in the control room, integrating multiple live images and feeds, a keen interest in newsgathering and responsiveness and a proven track record of producing high-quality content will make your application stand out. We need all employees to embody TEGNA’s values of demanding the truth, working smart, doing the right thing all while pushing to win. 

This role is to produce for a TEGNA corporate streaming channel that will be based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. 

 
Responsibilities: 
•    Use your natural curiosity to pitch compelling stories and expert interviews. 
•    Inspire and motivate colleagues while leading by example. 
•    Push our streams to be filled with context and stand out from the competition. 
•    Show off your creativity and storytelling skills. 
•    Create stories of various lengths across multiple platforms for targeted audiences. 
•    Meet daily deadlines. 
•    Combine live feeds, graphics, compelling video, and emotional sound to create an engaging experience. 
•    Coordinate with reporters and/or anchors across the country covering various news events 
•    Booth continuous coverage on our live streams for breaking news and community events. 
•    Regularly explore new ideas following careful discussions with supervisors. 
•    Edit together video specials/re-racked content that will work for VOD purposes. 
•    Use data analytics to help shape the content of your show. 
•    Challenge the traditional way of doing things. 
•    Passion for breaking news and go-getter attitude. 
 
Requirements: 
•    Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications or related field. 
•    Minimum 2 years of news producing experience. 
•    Top-notch communication skills. 
•    Solid journalistic judgment and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair and unique content. 
•    Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism. 
•    Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content. 
•    Organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines. 
•    Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events. 
•    Experience using VMix (or similar system), ENPS and desktop video editing software such as Edius, strongly preferred. 
•    Desire to live and work in-person in Charlotte, North Carolina.
