The Strategic Sourcing Manager (LCM – Lead Category Manager) role within GSM is focused on the effective and efficient procurement of Hardline Products for the Hand Tools and Storage Group (HTSG) in support of Stanley Black & Decker’s vision. This role is responsible for the creation and implementation of category sourcing strategies and driving sourcing productivity. Given the global nature of these sourcing initiatives, the Global Supply Manager interacts with suppliers and colleagues arcoss geographies and work cultures.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure high degree of service delivery and SBU satisfaction
- Consider unique/specific SBU needs during category strategy implementation
- Provide SBU expertise to category and regional leadership during sourcing strategy development
- Understand and link sourcing strategy with GSM priorities and SBU goals
- Lead the supplier selection process through management of formal RFP, RFQ and RFI processes
- Prepare and perform the negotiation and contract management with suppliers
- Partner with the SBUs to ensure they recognize the business value from the GSM team
- Implement category strategies in support of the business vision and margin resiliency initiatives
- Responsible for creation of TCO value to the organization through a combination of productivity, working capital, synergies, reduced risk, improved supplier lead times, etc.
- Maintain business relationships with global suppliers for the Automotive and Hardline categories and serve as an escalation point to resolve supplier performance issues
- Develop and foster global supplier relationships that deliver cost reduction, supply assurance, quality improvement and innovation
- Implement strategic supplier management, supplier risk management, supplier diversity, and CSR programs for the HTSG (leveraging Global Supply Management’s Center of Excellence)
- Institutionalize best-practice processes and policies and knowledge sharing between GSM and HTSG and ensure continuous improvement
- Guarantee compliance with GSM policies and procedures and DOA requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 5-10 years of experience in sourcing
- Must have a balance of both strategic and operational capacities including regional sourcing, supplier management, commodity risk management, etc.
- Successful track record of implementing sourcing and procurement strategies
- Experience in strategic planning, budgeting and financial reporting
- Global mindset with experience working in an international/multi-cultural matrix environment

- Multi-lingual
- CPIM or CSCMP certification
- PMP certifications
- Six Sigma or Lean/Kaizen certification

Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally 10-20% of his/her time.
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor’s degree is required. A MBA or Masters in Supply Chain is preferred.
