RSM US LLP is seeking to add a Strategic Account Manager to our Enterprise Sales Organization to focus on growing our comprehensive suite of business application consulting services. The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for developing technology consulting accounts through the cultivation of client relationships, identification of cross-selling opportunities, and conversion of single-service engagements into comprehensive partnerships. This position requires presenting RSM’s full suite of solutions to senior leadership, coordinating expertise in digital transformation, and optimizing account value. Additionally, the Strategic Account Manager will concentrate on expanding the business applications client base by sourcing new opportunities, strengthening relationships with existing clients in this sector, and promoting adoption of RSM’s business application services as integral components of broader digital strategies.

Success in this role requires building deep, multi-threaded relationships across the C-suite, positioning the firm as a primary partner for integrated technology and business transformation. By leveraging strong industry and technology expertise, the role identifies high-value opportunities and aligns client business challenges with innovative solutions across cloud, data and analytics, AI, infrastructure, and managed services.

The position also plays a critical role in orchestrating cross-functional teams to design, sell, and deliver complex, multi-service solutions, while maintaining a strong pipeline and accurate forecasting. Equally important is ownership of overall account health—ensuring client satisfaction, mitigating risks, driving successful renewals, and delivering measurable business outcomes that reinforce long-term partnerships and client advocacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, target and sell RSM solutions to current RSM clients as well as prospective clients. These duties include responsibility for executing the sales plan and process, including coordination of all necessary resources to best position the firm to secure the business.

  • Implement team strategy for driving revenues with existing client accounts. Work with Partners, Directors and other client servers to prioritize existing firm clients and create client expansion account plans to include cross-selling of opportunities outside of the service line where appropriate.

  • Achieve stated growth goals (both client expansion as well as net revenue retention) through demonstrated mastery of service offerings, account plan execution, quarterly business reviews, relation map strategy, and sales process best practices implementation.

  • Work closely with local and national marketing resources to develop effective, targeted go-to-market plans for RSM clients as well as prospective clients within targeted markets and/or industries.

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of client and/or new client opportunities that meets the Enterprise Sales Organization’s stated pipeline requirements.

  • Work closely with the Enterprise Sales Organization management to provide ongoing, required administrative reporting within the firm CRM, essential administrative requirements of the role, and active participation in team and/or firm meetings/calls/events

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum 5 years of professional services sales and/or account management selling experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • CRM experience for sales and/or account management application and requirements

  • Formal sales process training (consultative selling, solution-based selling, complex sales or related consultative selling approaches)

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a comprehensive and often complex sales process involving multiple internal resources and external decision-makers. Leadership in this role is largely based on influence and subject matter expertise rather than formal leadership roles or reporting lines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within a consulting firm/accounting firm environment

  • 7+ years of account management, technology consulting account leadership, or strategic advisory sales experience in management consulting, systems integration, professional services, or technology-enabled business transformation.

  • Experience selling Cloud-Native software solutions (ie, NetSuite, Salesforce)

  • Experience selling One Microsoft solutions
