Here at Scout Motors, we're carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history. A vehicle dating back to 1960. One that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and trucks and will do so once again.

But Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work.

The Scout brand is all about respect. Respect for the past and the future by taking an iconic American brand that hasn’t been around for a while, electrifying it, digitizing it, and loading it with American innovation. Respect for communities by creating a company that stands for its people and its customers. Respect for both work and play, with vehicles that are equally at home at a camp site, a job site, or on a Tuesday commute. And respect for our customers by developing two powertrains that meet their requirements — an all-electric powertrain as well as the Harvester™ range extender powertrain which includes a built-in gas-powered generator with an estimated 500 miles of combined range.

At Scout Motors, we empower our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams to innovate. What makes a Scout employee? Someone who is a visionary and a leader, who seeks new paths and shares lessons learned. A knowledgeable doer who collaborates across the company to build better. A go-getter with unrivaled passion.

What you’ll do

Join an iconic brand that is redefining the pickup truck and rugged SUV marketplace. As Staff Technical Product Manager – Recall & Campaign Management, you will lead the strategy and execution of Scout’s Recall & Campaign Management ecosystem, a critical platform that ensures regulatory compliance, customer safety, and operational excellence across Scout’s service network.

This role is essential in the pre–Start of Production phase and focuses on building a centralized system that ingests, orchestrates, and manages recall and campaign data from multiple upstream systems, including VW Group platforms and other partner systems. This Digital Product will play a critical role on how recall actions move from identification to resolution, ensuring seamless integration with Dealer Management Systems (DMS), service operations, and compliance reporting frameworks.

You will partner closely with Aftersales Business, Retail Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Finance, Warranty, IT, and external partners to deliver scalable, compliant, and operationally sound recall solutions across Scout’s direct-to-consumer retail network.

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

Define and Lead Strategy

  • Own and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Scout’s Recall & Campaign Management system, ensuring alignment with broader regulatory, operational, and customer experience objectives.
  • Lead the 0–1 development of Scout’s recall platform ahead of Start of Operations, establishing foundational capabilities, workflows, and integration patterns.
  • Define a centralized recall orchestration model that connects upstream systems (e.g., VW Group, Rivian Volkswagen Technology) with Scout internal platforms and downstream execution systems.
  • Champion a data-driven architecture that enables real-time visibility into recall status, VIN-level impact, and completion rates.

Recall Operations – Problem Solving

  • Solve complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors across systems, regulations, and service operations.
  • Navigate ambiguity inherent in early-stage platform development, making informed tradeoffs across evolving requirements, partner dependencies, and operational readiness needs.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of critical recall data, including VIN-level affected populations, campaign rules, and completion tracking.
  • Bridge the gap between recall identification and service execution, enabling timely and efficient resolution of safety and compliance issues.
  • Minimize operational friction by standardizing recall workflows and reducing reliance on manual processes.

Lead Product Development

  • Lead end-to-end product development for recall and campaign management capabilities, from discovery through delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure delivery against defined business objectives, timelines, and operational readiness criteria.
  • Collaborate with upstream system providers (e.g., VW Group, RVT) to define integration patterns, data ingestion pipelines, and synchronization mechanisms.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to integrate recall data into service workflows, enabling VIN-level identification, scheduling, and completion tracking.
  • Translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into clear product requirements, workflows, and system logic.

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to cross-functional stakeholders, translating regulatory and operational needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Drive alignment across teams on priorities, scope, and execution timelines.
  • Work closely with:
  • Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with recall reporting and execution requirements.
  • Quality to align on defect identification, campaign definitions, and recall triggers.
  • Aftersales Business to provide required resolution paths and documentation.
  • Retail Operations to ensure seamless execution in service environments.
  • Finance & Warranty to ensure accurate cost tracking, claim handling, and reimbursement workflows.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders on priorities, scope, and execution timelines.

Operationalize Products

  • Lead rollout and adoption of recall management capabilities across Scout’s retail network.
  • Ensure operational readiness and enable execution at scale within defined processes and frameworks.
  • Establish support models and escalation paths for recall-related system issues.

Drive Technical Excellence

  • Partner with Software Engineering and UX teams to design scalable, resilient, and secure recall management solutions.
  • Apply best practices for API integrations, data governance, and system operability within the product domain.
  • Ensure systems support reliable, real-time data exchange across multiple platforms.

Measure Success

  • Define KPIs for recall performance, including completion rates, time-to-resolution, VIN accuracy, and regulatory compliance metrics.
  • Measure performance against defined business and operational targets.
  • Use feedback from field teams and stakeholders to continuously improve the platform.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Charlotte, North Carolina / Fremont, California.
