Dispel is a growth-stage cybersecurity company building secure remote access for critical infrastructure: utilities, manufacturing, and essential services. As our Staff Brand & Web Designer, you'll set the strategic direction for how Dispel looks, feels, and communicates across every touchpoint, from dispel.com to conference booths to product UI.

This role goes beyond hands-on design. You'll define the multi-year brand platform, build the systems and governance that keep it consistent at scale, and lead major web initiatives that drive measurable business results. You'll direct vendor and agency partners, coach senior designers, and work closely with executive leadership to make sure brand and web decisions support where the company is headed.

AI is core to how we work. You should already be using GenAI tools daily, whether that's generating visual concepts, producing content at speed, building interactive prototypes, or automating production workflows. At this level, you'll also define how the team uses AI to scale brand output without sacrificing quality.

You'll partner daily with the Chief Design Officer and Director of Marketing to align brand, web, and product design into a cohesive experience for customers in industrial manufacturing, utilities, and other critical infrastructure sectors.

This role is part of the Design organization.

RequirementsBrand & Visual Identity
  • Set multi-year brand direction: define principles, visual frameworks, and success measures.
  • Build brand architecture (products, sub-brands, co-branded experiences) and rules for how they extend as the company grows.
  • Own a tokenized design system that bridges marketing and product surfaces, ensuring consistency across all channels.
  • Operationalize GenAI for brand content: define prompt libraries, QA processes, and review workflows that balance speed with quality and originality.
  • Lead brand evolution grounded in research and customer insight, managing stakeholder alignment throughout.
Web Design & Development
  • Lead major site initiatives: re-architecture, design system adoption, CMS evaluation, and performance optimization on dispel.com.
  • Define and enforce performance, accessibility, and motion quality standards with clear review gates.
  • Design complex interactive and motion systems (e.g., Rive) and codify reusable patterns for the web platform.
  • Co-shape SEO strategy with Marketing: information architecture, templates, and schema with measurable impact on organic performance.
  • Prioritize the web roadmap with Engineering and Product, balancing innovation with reliability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Orchestrate integrated launches spanning web, events, content, and product, making sure brand expression is consistent everywhere.
  • Direct vendor and agency partners: set briefs, define quality standards, and review output.
  • Align foundational visuals (icons, illustration, motion language) with Product Design to keep marketing and product experiences coherent.
  • Lead complex event experiences (booth environments, screen choreography) and build reusable systems for future events.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales on campaign visuals, content templates, and enablement materials.
Communication & Leadership
  • Influence executive decisions on brand and web through clear rationale, tests, and data.
  • Coach senior and mid-level designers. Raise the bar for critique, documentation, and design rationale.
  • Create migration plans for brand transitions: risk assessments, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
  • Serve as the brand steward across Dispel. Run onboarding, office hours, and governance forums.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Design Officer and Director of Marketing to keep brand and business strategy aligned.
What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of experience in brand and web design, with a portfolio showing strategic leadership, systems thinking, and high-craft execution.
  • Proven ability to set brand direction at an organizational level: defining principles and governance, not just producing deliverables.
  • Deep expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and GenAI design tools as daily drivers, not occasional experiments.
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms (Framer, HubSpot) and modern web standards.
  • Experience leading major web initiatives (re-architecture, design system adoption, platform migration) with measurable results.
  • Skills in directing external partners (agencies, vendors, freelancers) with clear briefs and quality oversight.
  • Strong communicator who can align design, marketing, engineering, and executive stakeholders in a remote-first environment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across brand, web, and cross-functional programs.
Bonus Points
  • Frontend development experience (React, HTML/CSS/JS).
  • Skilled in motion platforms like Rive; advanced animation design skills.
  • Background in B2B, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or technical products.
  • Experience building tokenized or multi-theme design systems that bridge marketing and product.
  • Experience managing brand through high-stakes moments: rebrand, M&A, rapid growth.
  • You've built or operationalized GenAI pipelines for brand content production at scale.
