Sr. Workday Integration Engineer

This role will sit on the People Team and not within Informational Technology.  It is a remote role.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Workday Integration Engineer (P4) to lead the design, development, and maintenance of integrations between Workday and internal/external systems. In this role, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally with the People team, Payroll, Finance, and IT to ensure data flows securely, accurately, and efficiently across platforms. You’ll also play a key role in Workday enhancement projects and partner with stakeholders to continuously improve the overall Workday ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Workday integrations using EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio, and Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP).
• Serve as the technical lead for integration-related projects, including new system implementations and enhancements.
• Troubleshoot, test, and resolve integration issues in a timely and scalable manner.
• Partner with internal stakeholders (People, Payroll, Benefits, IT) to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Document technical designs, support procedures, and maintain integration-related documentation.
• Monitor integration runs, logs, and error messages to ensure system health and data integrity.
• Conduct and create routine system audits to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and optimal system performance.
• Build and maintain custom reports using Workday Report Writer to support business insights and operational needs.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance post go-live, including upgrades and Workday release testing.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Workday integration best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Workday integration experience.
• Strong experience in XSLT, XPath, and XML.
• Experience with Workday Report Writer for creating and managing custom reports.
• Ability to conduct system audits and recommend improvements based on findings.
• Familiarity with security, data privacy, and compliance requirements related to People and payroll data.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating Workday with third-party global payroll systems (e.g., Cloudpay, Excelity, etc).
• Workday certifications (e.g., Workday Integration Core, Studio, Report Writer)
