We’re looking for a Senior Technology Risk Advisor to support initiatives led by the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), with a focus on analytics platforms, emerging technologies, and Generative AI. This role partners closely with data scientists, architects, and technology leaders to assess risk, advise on control design, and help ensure innovative tools are used responsibly and securely.

This is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role for someone with a strong technology risk background and a consulting mindset—someone who enjoys digging into how technology is built and used, performing thoughtful risk assessments, and clearly communicating recommendations to senior stakeholders. You won’t be writing models or code, but you will play a meaningful role in shaping how cutting-edge analytics and AI solutions are deployed across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level technology risk guidance and advisory support to enterprise and divisional partners supporting CDAO initiatives, aligned with the organization’s operational and strategic risk framework. Advise on risk considerations for analytics, GenAI, and other emerging technologies across cloud and hybrid environments.

  • Perform hands-on technology risk assessments, evaluating how risks are identified, managed, and monitored across analytics platforms, data science workflows, and supporting infrastructure. Identify existing and emerging risks and recommend practical, scalable mitigation strategies.

  • Partner with data science teams, architecture committees, and governance forums to assess risk implications of analytical tools, platforms, and services (e.g., Amazon SageMaker and similar technologies), informing design and usage decisions with clear, actionable insights.

  • Apply industry best practices in technology and analytics risk to review solution designs, evaluate implementations, and recommend effective control approaches that balance innovation with risk management.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating complex technical and analytics-related risks into clear, business-relevant guidance and influencing decisions through expertise rather than formal authority.

  • Review the design and effectiveness of existing controls, identifying opportunities to strengthen technical standards, methodologies, and governance practices in line with evolving industry and regulatory expectations.

  • Contribute to special projects and cross-functional initiatives, providing technology risk expertise in support of analytics, data, and emerging technology priorities.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of IT experience, including direct experience performing technology risk assessments in complex environments.

  • Experience assessing risks related to analytics platforms, data science workflows, cloud services, and/or emerging technologies such as GenAI.

  • Consulting or advisory experience strongly preferred, with demonstrated ability to conduct deep-dive assessments and present clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Strong communication skills with experience engaging and influencing senior (non-executive) stakeholders.
