THE POSITION

As the Sr. Solutions Engineer for the Hospitality vertical, you will serve as the technical expert responsible for shaping and validating integrated system architectures that support hotels, resorts, casinos, entertainment venues, and mixed‑use hospitality environments across global markets.

You will work closely with sales, engineering, offering management, and customer stakeholders to understand operational and guest‑experience requirements, develop integrated building‑system designs, and guide technical decisions that enable comfortable, efficient, and reliable hospitality environments.

This position is design‑led and solutions‑focused, emphasizing building systems, integration planning, and technical engagement throughout the pre‑sales and solution‑development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and technical architecture of integrated building systems for hospitality facilities, including building management systems, controls, energy‑management platforms, guest‑room and public‑area controls, and other low‑voltage building technologies.
  • Translate customer requirements for guest comfort, experience, and operational efficiency into scalable, clearly documented solution designs with defined integration pathways and functional impacts.
  • Engage with hospitality owners, operators, consultants, and project partners to understand facility types, operational workflows, and regional design requirements across global markets.
  • Support pre‑sales engagements by providing technical leadership, presenting solution options, and validating system feasibility in partnership with the sales organization (no individual sales quota).
  • Review system specifications, design drawings, and integration requirements for key hospitality opportunities and major projects.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams: Strategic Sales, Offering Management, Solutions Consulting, Product, and Engineering – to ensure system architecture aligns with Honeywell’s portfolio and hospitality‑segment goals.
  • Recommend optimal system designs based on hospitality operational priorities (guest comfort, energy optimization, occupancy‑based control, facility operations) and regional requirements.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, customer presentations, and industry discussions to convey technical value and system differentiation for hospitality environments.
  • Maintain current knowledge of hospitality facility types, guest‑room and public‑area control strategies, and building‑systems integration practices.
  • Travel as needed to support major customer engagements, design reviews, and technical workshops across domestic and international regions.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 3 plus years of experience designing or engineering building systems within hospitality facilities (such as hotels, resorts, casinos, entertainment venues, or mixed‑use hospitality developments); OR 5 plus years of experience in building‑system design, technical solution development, or system architecture for large commercial or guest‑focused environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate guest‑experience and operational requirements into coherent system designs, architectural decisions, or integration plans.
  • Experience supporting customer‑facing technical discussions in pre‑sales, solution design, consulting, or similar environments.
  • Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex system concepts to both engineering and non‑technical stakeholders.

WE VALUE

  • Participation in hospitality‑focused facility or engineering associations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, building systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience designing or integrating building automation, controls, energy‑management, guest‑room control, or security/access systems in hospitality or large commercial facilities.
  • Understanding of hospitality operational workflows, guest‑experience drivers, and environmental/comfort requirements that influence system design.
  • Strong collaboration skills across global, multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to assess current‑state system architecture and recommend enhancements aligned to customer and market needs.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to adapt solutions across diverse global hospitality environments.
