What We Need 

The Sr. DME Billing Expert will report directly to the Director, Revenue Cycle Management. This team member provides DME expertise to the RCM department and across the organization to help support the operational needs and financial results of the business. This individual will partner closely with teams across RCM, Operations, Compliance, Product, Technology, and Finance to ensure accurate billing, optimized workflows, reduced denials, and timely reimbursement. The Sr. DME Billing Expert plays a key role in driving continuous improvement across the end-to-end revenue cycle, translating complex payer requirements and regulatory guidance into scalable, operationally sound solutions.

What You Will Do 

  • Serve as an RCM and DME subject matter expert and provide support to departments across the organization including but not limited to RCM, Operations (Order Intake, Qualification, and Fulfillment teams), Compliance, Business and Product Development, IT, Finance, QA, and Training and Development. 
  • Serve as a resource to the RCM department and company for DME product qualification and billing requirements.   
  • Proactively resolve issues, identify trends, opportunities, propose solutions, and work on improvement initiatives throughout the business that have a direct impact on end-to-end operational and Revenue Cycle performance and results. 
  • Provide guidance and support to reduce denials and adjustments through reporting, data analysis, root cause identification, solution and action planning, implementation, and follow through. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures as well as job aids and training materials that have a direct impact on end-to-end operational and Revenue Cycle performance and results. 
  • Assist with updating and maintaining the billing system configuration. 
  • Assist with the relationship and performance of third-party vendors responsible for systems, technology, and revenue cycle functions. 
  • Maintain an extensive knowledge of different types of payer coverage, insurance policies, payer guidelines and payer contracts ensure accurate billing and timely payment. 
  • Ensure compliance with third party payor requirements and all applicable state/federal laws. 
  • Act as a liaison between business users and system development and configuration authorities within our revenue cycle management systems and solutions. 
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned. 

What You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred 
  • Expert knowledge of DME items, documentation, and billing requirements (Oxygen, PAP, Ventilators, CGM Supplies, Wheelchairs, Beds, etc) 
  • At lease 5 years of experience in DME, working for a DME provider or billing company 
  • At least 5 years of experience in the healthcare industry in revenue cycle management (billing, payment posting, AR/denials management, and patient financial services) 
  • Expert understanding of Healthcare reimbursement/collections, medical billing, ICD10 coding, patient documentation, chart auditing, and state and federal regulations 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn department and job-specific software systems (e.g., applicable practice management and EMR systems)

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $62,400 – $78,000 annually. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, demonstrated skills, internal equity, and prevailing market conditions. Compensation discussions are encouraged throughout the hiring process.
