You'll be working on the challenges that sit at the heart of modern business. No matter your role, the work you do will help organizations move faster, see more clearly, and tackle questions that used to feel impossible.

If you're ready to meet the moment with innovation, curiosity, and excellence, there's a place for you here.

Senior Partner Sales Engineer

Public Sector and U.S. South  |  Partner-led Alteryx One outcomes

The opportunity

Data, automation and AI are reshaping how work gets done. Alteryx One brings data, analytics and AI together in a governed, accessible platform, enabling organizations to turn trusted workflows and business logic into repeatable, agent-driven outcomes.

The Senior Partner Sales Engineer is the technical and strategic lead for a focused portfolio of partners and partner-led opportunities. You will help global and regional systems integrators, solution providers, distributors and technology partners position, architect, prove, deliver and scale Alteryx One solutions. You will work across partner leadership, partner architects, Alteryx account teams, Product, Engineering and customer stakeholders to convert ecosystem potential into measurable customer outcomes.

This role has a specific mandate across Public Sector and the U.S. South. sales segment.  It combines partner practice development with hands-on presales execution, including public sector account planning, mission-oriented use cases, secure hybrid architectures, technical evaluations and production adoption.

What success looks like
  • Priority partners can independently qualify, position, demonstrate, architect and deliver Alteryx One solutions.

  • Partner-sourced and partner-influenced opportunities advance through stronger discovery, technical validation and executive alignment.

  • Proofs of concept and Partner Acceleration Program investments start with a named customer, measurable outcome, delivery capacity and path to production.

  • Joint solutions become reusable offerings, reference architectures, demos and managed service patterns that partners can take to additional accounts.

  • Public Sector customers receive architectures and value cases aligned to mission outcomes, security, governance, auditability and responsible AI.

  • Technical outcomes are evidenced through milestones, technical win rate, POC-to-production conversion, active usage, partner readiness and contribution to pipeline, renewal and expansion.

What you will doOwn partner technical strategy and practice development  |  approx. 20%
  • Build technical account plans for assigned partners, aligned to their GTM priorities, industry strengths, delivery capacity, target accounts and services economics.

  • Establish trusted-advisor relationships with partner executives, practice leaders, solution architects and sales engineers.

  • Segment partners by readiness and potential, then focus investment on those able to sell, build, support and scale repeatable customer outcomes.

  • Align with Partner Alliance Managers and field leadership on joint priorities, coverage, account mapping and measurable success criteria.

Architect differentiated Alteryx One solutions  |  approx. 25%
  • Lead discovery and architecture workshops that connect business outcomes to AI-ready data, analytics, automation, governance and deployment requirements.

  • Design secure cloud, hybrid and on-premises patterns across Alteryx One, modern data platforms and enterprise applications.

  • Position governed business logic as the foundation for reliable agentic outcomes, with workflows that are visible, understandable, repeatable and auditable.

  • Guide partners on Agent Studio, Alteryx MCP Server, AI Tool Palette, Ask Alteryx, Live Query, Workspace Execution and relevant Designer capabilities, distinguishing released functionality from preview or roadmap items.

  • Develop joint architectures and integration patterns with Snowflake, Databricks, Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft and other strategic technologies without displacing partner or platform-native services.

Lead partner-led technical sales and proof execution  |  approx. 20%
  • Support qualified partner-led opportunities from discovery through technical close, including demonstrations, whiteboarding, solution design, objection handling, security review and executive presentations.

  • Structure POCs and Partner Acceleration Program engagements around a named sponsor, funded problem, baseline, acceptance criteria, partner capacity, production owner and repeatable 5-to-10-account thesis.

  • Drive clear qualify, design, prove and produce gates. Stop or reset activity when customer demand, product fit, security, partner economics, delivery ownership or production criteria are not credible.

  • Capture reusable evidence, including reference designs, demo assets, customer proof, lessons learned and delivery handoffs.

Advance Public Sector outcomes  |  approx. 15%
  • Partner with Public Sector AEs, alliance leaders and delivery partners to identify mission-critical workflows in cross-government operations, defense and intelligence, public health, finance and revenue, infrastructure, transportation, human services and public safety.

  • Translate agency priorities into measurable outcomes such as improved service delivery, stronger forecasting, resource optimization, faster disaster response, better data quality and auditable decision processes.

  • Address public sector requirements for secure data access, hybrid deployment, governance, lineage, regulatory compliance, accessibility and responsible AI in coordination with Alteryx specialists.

  • Support partner-led account planning, capture activity and technical responses for relevant procurement motions. Never overstate certifications, authorizations, product availability or customer evidence.

Enable partners to operate independently  |  approx. 10%
  • Create role-based enablement for partner sellers, presales teams, architects and delivery consultants, combining messaging, discovery, demos, architecture and implementation readiness.

  • Coach partner technical teams through hands-on builds, certification pathways, technical win plans and delivery quality reviews.

  • Build scalable assets such as demo environments, solution blueprints, reusable workflows, industry playbooks, competitive guidance and facilitator kits.

  • Measure enablement by observed capability and customer execution, not attendance or activity volume alone.

Represent the partner and operate with discipline  |  approx. 10%
  • Bring structured partner and customer feedback to Product and Engineering, influence priorities with evidence and close the loop with the ecosystem.

  • Maintain current knowledge of Alteryx One, data and AI market trends, competitors, partner roadmaps, security practices and commercial dependencies.

  • Track technical milestones, partner readiness, risks, outcomes and attribution in the relevant operating systems; provide concise MBR and QBR insight.

  • Represent Alteryx at partner events, executive briefings, technical communities and customer forums.

What we are looking forRequired experience and capability
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in enterprise presales, solution engineering, solution architecture or technical consulting across data, analytics, automation, AI or adjacent enterprise software.

  • At least 3 years working directly with partner ecosystems, including GSIs, regional SIs, solution providers, distributors, ISVs or hyperscalers.

  • Demonstrated success building partner technical capability and supporting partner-sourced or partner-led enterprise opportunities through technical close.

  • Hands-on ability to lead discovery, design architectures, build compelling demonstrations and define outcome-based POCs.

  • Working knowledge of data preparation, analytics, workflow automation, governance, AI/ML and agentic AI concepts, including APIs, OAuth, MCP, LLM integration and human oversight.

  • Experience with public cloud and modern data platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake or Databricks, plus hybrid and on-premises integration patterns.

  • Practical proficiency with SQL and at least one relevant analytics or programming environment such as Alteryx, Python or R.

  • Executive presence and the ability to translate technical complexity into business, partner and mission outcomes for CxO, architecture, security, data and line-of-business audiences.

  • Strong commercial judgment, prioritization and written communication; willing to challenge weak qualification and ungrounded roadmap assumptions.

  • Ability to travel up to 40%, based on territory and business needs.

Preferred and differentiating experience
  • Experience supporting U.S. Public Sector agencies and the partner ecosystem that serves them, including mission, procurement, security and delivery stakeholders.

  • Alteryx experience or certification, with the ability to ramp rapidly across Alteryx One, Designer and cloud modules.

  • Applied experience with GenAI or agentic architectures, including RAG, MCP-based tool use, prompt and context design, evaluation, guardrails and responsible AI.

  • Experience creating partner practices, packaged offerings, reference architectures, marketplace propositions or managed services.

  • Cloud, data platform, architecture, security or AI certifications relevant to the territory and partner portfolio.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
