ABOUT THERMO FISHER SCIENTIFIC:

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll engage in significant work that supports a powerful mission: enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. With revenues exceeding $40 billion and a track record of stability and consistent growth, we are uniquely positioned to provide our employees with the resources and opportunities to make meaningful contributions to the world
DESCRIPTION:

This role sits at the center of executive communications and customer engagement for Thermo Fisher’s most strategic Biopharma, Biotech, and other Life Science industry customers. The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for developing clear, compelling, executive-level narratives that communicate our enterprise value across a complex portfolio of products and services. This role reports into the Biotech & Pharma and Applied Segment Marketing Director and is closely aligned with segment marketing priorities and commercial objectives.

This is a high-visibility, execution-driven role that requires strong judgment, speed, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity. You will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex, and often conflicting, inputs into cohesive, decision-oriented communications.

Success in this role requires strong judgment, the ability to distill complexity into clear narratives, and consistent delivery of high-quality outputs under pressure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Executive Communications & Narrative Development (Primary Focus)

  • Lead development of customer-facing, executive-level presentations and briefing materials by synthesizing complex, cross-divisional inputs into clear, compelling, decision-oriented narratives

  • Align multiple stakeholders and divisions into a single, cohesive story that reflects Thermo Fisher’s enterprise value

  • Adapt messaging in real time based on audience (executive, technical, commercial), including in live or rapidly evolving situations

  • Ensure all materials are polished, accurate, and ready for high-visibility external engagement

Stakeholder Alignment & Influence

  • Drive alignment across a highly matrixed organization without direct authority

  • Identify and resolve conflicting inputs, risks, and messaging gaps to ensure clarity and forward progress

  • Build credibility with senior stakeholders through strong judgment and consistent delivery

Segment Marketing Partnership & Strategic Initiative Support

  • Partner closely with the Biotech & Pharma and Applied Segment Marketing team to support priority initiatives and key commercial objectives

  • Participate in annual segment marketing strategic planning and contribute to select segment-level initiatives by translating strategy into execution and communications

  • Ensure communications are aligned with segment priorities by acting as a connector across segment marketing, commercial teams, and cross-divisional stakeholders

Commercial Enablement & Content Operations

  • Develop and refine tools and content used by Corporate Accounts teams (e.g., Seismic, GPT agents, internal platforms)

  • Gather input from sales and customer-facing teams to improve content relevance and usability

  • Leverage scalable processes and AI-enabled tools to improve speed and efficiency of content development

Process Improvement & Execution Excellence

  • Identify opportunities to streamline content development, feedback loops, and approvals

  • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous situations while balancing speed and quality in high-stakes deliverables

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS with major/minor in sciences/business required

  •  MBA or graduate degree is a plus

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, communications, consulting, or sales enablement

  • Experience supporting executive-level communications or high-stakes presentations strongly preferred

  • Experience working in a matrixed, global organization

  • Familiarity with the Biotech, BioPharma, and Life Science industries preferred

  • Advanced PowerPoint skills and storytelling capability to produce executive-ready materials or tailor messaging to different audiences

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly

MINDSET AND APTITUDE:

  • Bias for action with the ability to operate independently and deliver results without perfect inputs

  • Operate as a trusted partner behind the scenes, enabling senior leaders and teams to succeed

  • Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to understand the business, customers, and context
