The primary purpose of this role is to lead the engineering team responsible for the design, development, configuration, testing, and ongoing improvement of myredvest Orders within the Stores Post Purchase space. This role delivers state-of-the-art post-purchase experiences that empower associates to confidently resolve customer order needs-from order inquiry through modification-without friction, escalation, or guesswork.
myredvest Orders is the intersection of Stores, Digital, Pro, and Services-based transactions, providing a unified experience for customers and associates across channels and fulfillment journeys. This role provides technical leadership for the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions that enable seamless order visibility, management, and exception resolution after the sale.
The role is also responsible for providing insights and recommendations that inform the myredvest Orders roadmap, portfolio health, technical strategy, and ongoing care of associated products and services. The leader will champion experiences that reduce complexity for associates, help customers receive timely and accurate resolution, and drive superior customer satisfaction.

* Manages engineering services in the design, build, and maintenance of solutions within myredvest Orders and related technology products and services; oversees the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions.
* Builds intuitive, resilient experiences that help associates resolve post-sale customer needs efficiently, including order discovery, modification, fulfillment exceptions, delivery and service coordination, and other customer care workflows.
* Partners across Stores, Digital, Pro, Services, Product, Operations, and enterprise technology teams to deliver consistent, connected experiences across customer channels and transaction types.
* Influences and establishes best-in-class engineering practices through sound design decisions; conducts regular code reviews to ensure teams adhere to best practices; and is directly involved with resolving defects at the code and platform levels.
* Establishes and advances agentic AI practices to create seamless, frictionless experiences that reduce the effort, manual research, and operational burden placed on associates and customers. Ensures AI-enabled capabilities are designed with appropriate guardrails, observability, accuracy, and human-centered workflows.
* Leverages DevOps tools to efficiently deliver products and observability tools to actively monitor performance, reliability, customer and associate experience signals, and improvement opportunities across delivered products.
* Partners with scrum teams to ensure plans properly align team capacity; identifies ways to increase team velocity, improve quality, and reduce sprint spillover.
* Ensures alignment, buy-in, and support among diverse stakeholders by building and maintaining trusted relationships with internal customers, third-party vendors, and senior management.
* Resolves escalated issues throughout the development, configuration, integration, and modification of business and enterprise application solutions, with a focus on minimizing customer disruption and associate effort.
* Designs solutions using microservice architecture and event- and data-driven API integrations to support scalable, reliable, near-real-time order experiences across enterprise platforms.
* Partners with product team members to inform priorities across the myredvest Orders roadmap, balancing customer outcomes, associate usability, operational needs, technical health, and strategic modernization.
* Provides input for departmental budget and forecasting and manages expenses associated with initiatives within scope of responsibility. Coordinates estimation and execution of plans, schedules, and resource forecasts for services and applications in scope.
* Manages multiple services and applications, providing appropriate engineering resources through partnerships with technology teams, vendors, and business leaders.
* Leads the team through all technology solution development phases by ensuring adherence to company methodology, policies, standards, and controls. Educates and aligns the team on departmental standard operating procedures, objectives and key results, and the operationalization of assigned services and applications.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
- 8 years of IT experience
- 8 years of experience in software engineering or related field
- 8 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of software development life cycles (SDLC)
- 3 years of experience leading project or technical teams with or without formal direct report responsibility; this includes experience providing technical direction, thought leadership, and coaching and mentoring team members
Preferred Skills/Education
- Master's degree in computer science, CIS, or related field
- 5 years of experience in software development in an agile environment and working with third-party vendors/software solution providers
- 5 years of experience working in an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
- 3 years of experience in IT management in the retail industry
- 3 years of experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior leadership
