ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized candidate for a Sr. Manager or Director, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting position. The successful candidate will demonstrate high proficiency in GAAP, superior communications, and detail-oriented organizational skills. This role reports to Sr. Director, Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, and SOX.
We are looking for an energetic, highly organized and detail-oriented seasoned CPA with public accounting and/or SEC experience as we continue to expand our technical accounting and financial reporting team in preparation for high growth and expanding business lines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure quarterly and annual financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Evaluate business transactions for proper accounting treatment and maintain the internal controls over financial reporting Implement new accounting policies and procedures to respond to changes in internal policies, GAAP, and SOX 404 requirements
- Draft technical memos, research papers and accounting positions. Review and assure accuracy of complex technical accounting transactions
- Key interface with outside auditors on technical accounting
- Provide on-going technical training for the accounting organization
- Provide technical accounting direction to the company's entities
- Collaborate with the FP&A on the business plan/projections.
- Provide a high level of customer service within finance and to non-finance business partners
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA 5+ years of Big 4 Public accounting experience 10+ years of public and private industry experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and FASB pronouncements
- Prior experience in drafting and preparing quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Strong at execution, follow-up and attention to detail
- Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think out-of the box
- Very strong leadership experience, including excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization
- Able to keep deadlines at a fast pace without losing accuracy
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
