Position Overview
The Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing is responsible for leading the procurement strategy and operations across the organization. This role ensures the efficient acquisition of goods and services, manages vendor relationships, drives cost savings, and supports organizational goals through strategic sourcing and supply chain optimization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
- Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives to optimize solutions for cost, quality, and delivery.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (engineering, project delivery, legal) to align contract terms with business and technical objectives.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for innovation (e.g. technologies) and improvement (e.g. efficiency and/or performance).
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Lead and support RFP processes for major suppliers, including hardware, software or services (e.g. EPC, O&M) in support projects, or existing assets.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure favorable outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee procurement operations including purchase orders, approvals, and inventory controls.
- Implement procurement systems and tools to streamline processes.
- Monitor KPIs and prepare reports for senior leadership.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Ensure business continuity through supplier diversification and contingency planning.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
· 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management.
· Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
· Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
· Experience with distributed energy solutions, equipment and technologies is a plus
· Proven leadership and cross functional experience is required.
· Experience with contract negotiations and compliance standards.
