As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector, you lead multiple technical areas, manage the activities of multiple departments, and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.
Job responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial technology solutions to enhance financial reporting capabilities and achieve firmwide technology objectives.
  • Directly manage multiple areas with a strategic focus on transactional processes, ensuring financial reporting systems are efficient, accurate, and compliant.
  • Collaborate with finance, product, and technology teams to integrate financial reporting systems across departments for seamless data flow and reporting accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary interface with senior financial leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus on financial technology objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee complex projects related to financial reporting, including system design, testing, and operational stability, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders to adopt innovative financial technology solutions that improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Advocate for best practices in financial reporting, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the financial technology and reporting teams.
  • Lead efforts to innovate and continuously improve financial reporting processes, leveraging modern technologies and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain the highest standards of data security and integrity in financial reporting systems.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 7+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in Software Engineering, with a focus on leading complex technology projects and programs in large organizations
  • Proven experience in developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists, particularly within the financial technology sector.
  • Experience managing technology teams working with Big Data technologies (Spark, Databricks), Cloud Infrastructure(AWS, Azure), UI (React) development, and Java programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across highly matrixed, complex organizations and deliver value at scale.
  • Extensive experience in leading complex projects that support system design, testing, and operational stability, specifically in financial reporting systems.
  • Strong track record in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent within technology teams.
  • Extensive practical experience with cloud-native technologies and modern software development practices.
  • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, with a strong understanding of financial technology applications.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to financial reporting and technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Commitment to championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team and organization.
