Iron Mountain Digital is seeking a strategic and results-driven strategy and operations leader to accelerate growth of its secure access solutions portfolio, including services, cloud offerings and partner engagement. This role is critical to driving market adoption, enabling customer success, and executing a disciplined, metrics-driven sales strategy.

The Sr Director, Strategic Initiatives and Operations is a key member of the DBU Commercial Senior Leadership team and will be instrumental in providing insights, guidance, and coordination to the team with a heavy focus on critical strategy and initiatives. Individual serves as the focal point for matters of collaboration among the DBU leadership team, and the principal point of coordination with adjacent business units. Highly influential, this position requires significant collaboration with other cross functional senior leadership across the Enterprise, in addition to strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead all levels through change. This role requires one to work with DBU leaders to build a Vision, Strategy, Execution plan for the 1-3 year direction. It will also require one to work with the solutions team to build a roadmap based on vertical requirements including customer and partner engagement. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development and sales execution for Iron Mountain Digital’s secure solutions across enterprise and commercial markets.

  • Lead business reviews, pipeline health assessments, and performance tracking across sales and partner teams.

  • Drive strategic business planning and operating rhythms (QBRs, annual planning, OKRs).

  • Develop strategic insights and frameworks to support GTM initiatives, partner engagement models, and commercial acceleration.

  • Provide guidance and leadership on large, complex deals—ensuring strategic alignment, pricing integrity, and stakeholder buy-in.

  • Develop, optimize, and scale repeatable sales processes that support demand generation, pipeline velocity, and revenue growth.

  • Align closely with sales enablement programs—adopting tools, messaging, and methodologies that enhance consistency and impact across the sales cycle.

  • Create long-term territory and account plans focused on customer outcomes, retention, and solution expansion.

  • Drive talent transformation by mentoring peers and applying a metrics-driven approach to performance—leveraging KPIs such as sales cycle time, quota attainment, and win rates to inform development and accountability.

  • Partner cross-functionally with product, marketing, customer success, and operations to strengthen go-to-market alignment and solution delivery.

  • Build and manage strong relationships with strategic channel partners to expand market reach and co-selling effectiveness.

  • Accurately and responsibly gauge business risks and rewards (i.e., take “intelligent risks”) and lead the resulting decisions and actions to productive outcomes

  • Consider both short- and long-term business impacts, when creating strategy

  • Manage detail in a fast-paced and lean organization, sometimes with cost and system constraints

Leadership: 

  • Capable of creating and communicating a vision, using inspirational leadership and motivation. 

  • Strong demonstrated experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders. 

  • This individual will interface with all levels of the organization and should have the ability to make decisions based on what is best for Iron Mountain and in consideration of the long-term advancement of the organization.

  • As a key representative and leader of the company, and frequent interface with senior executives, serves as a role model of integrity, having a positive attitude, being mission-driven, requiring high business standards and professionalism.

Problem Solving: 

  • This position requires significant proactive issue identification and advanced problem solving for the benefit of our customers as well as improving internal processes. 

Nature of Impact: 

  • This role acts as a confidant and advisor, often working behind the scenes to solve challenges, mitigate issues and mediate disputes from escalating. 

Area of Impact:

  • Interacting across multiple functional areas, this role will increase interdepartmental efficiencies. All levels of the organization will likely be affected by results of executed initiatives and personnel changes implemented at this level.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Capable of interfacing effectively at all levels vertically and laterally within a large and matrixed organization. Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; makes effective presentations. 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business degree or related field; MBA a plus 

  • Understanding in sales measurements and KPIs that drive sales performance

  • Strong presentation and written communication competencies; CRM usage and computer proficiency a benefit

Reasonably expected salary range: $219,800.00 - $293,000.00
