Senior Director, Channel Sales EngineerRole Summary

As the Senior Director, Channel Sales Engineer, you will serve as the technical bridge between Indirect Partners, the Channel Management team, and prospective clients. You will lead discovery sessions, design architectures, deliver compelling technical presentations/demos, educate partners, and craft responses to RFPs/RFIs. Additionally, you will represent CBTS at industry events, evangelizing the CBTS story.

This role requires deep expertise in network, voice, contact center, cloud, and security solutions, with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, credible solutions for organizations with 1,000+ employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Channel Managers to qualify opportunities and conduct technical discovery meetings with C-suite, VP, and Director-level stakeholders.
  • Represent CBTS as a keynote speaker or panelist at partner events.
  • Deliver technical whiteboard sessions showcasing CBTS’ managed services, professional services, and product resale offerings.
  • Lead RFP/RFI responses including technical write-ups, estimates, migration strategies, risk assessments, and TCO/ROI models.
  • Provide strategic feedback to the business on industry trends from the Indirect Channel.
Preferred Experience
  • 7+ years in technical pre-sales, sales engineering, or architecture design.
  • Proven track record supporting or closing enterprise-scale deals with organizations of 1,000+ employees.
  • Hands-on experience designing and scoping cloud-native data platforms, pipelines, and ML solutions.
  • Deep expertise in services related to:
    • Voice: UCaaS, CCaaS, CPaaS
    • Network: MPLS, SD-WAN
    • Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP
    • Security: SASE, SOC, vCISO
  • Working knowledge of OEM hardware, software, and licensing including Cisco, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, VeloCloud, Checkpoint, etc.
Soft Skills & Competencies
  • Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills—able to simplify complex concepts for executive and sales audiences.
  • Strong business acumen—understands how technical solutions drive P&L, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Consultative discovery skills with ability to uncover desired outcomes.
  • Comfortable engaging with CIO, CDO, CTO, VP of Data, and senior IT leadership.
  • Ability to defend architectural decisions while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field.
  • MBA or business-oriented coursework a plus.
