Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly collaborative Senior Consultant, Strategic Partnerships to support our client during a critical period of growth and transformation. This 4-month contract role will lead the development and management of all board materials and presentations, while coordinating strategic alignment across key stakeholders, including JV partners, board members, and internal teams. The consultant will be responsible for developing budgets, managing the budget planning process, and establishing governance models to support future budgeting and financial decision-making. The role will also play a key part in establishing and managing budgeting processes and associated financial governance structures, while coordinating partnership strategies and capital allocation frameworks to support a growing power business. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in board and executive communications, budget planning, financial planning and governance, and corporate partnership management. This role operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and requires exceptional stakeholder management, executive communication skills, and the ability to quickly translate feedback into action.
This position requires qualified candidates to live in the continental US. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, visa transfer or C2C candidates.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of all board presentations, supporting materials, executive narratives, and governance-related communications.
- Coordinate board meetings, including agenda development, presentation preparation, action item tracking, and follow-up activities.
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts for the Power Business Unit, coordinating inputs across stakeholders and ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end budget planning process, including timelines, stakeholder coordination, reviews, approvals, and executive communications.
- Establish and implement budgeting governance models, processes, and decision-making frameworks to support future financial planning and capital allocation activities.
- Coordinate strategic alignment across board members, strategic partners, executive leadership, and internal teams to support business objectives and key initiatives.
- Support capital allocation planning and related analyses to inform executive and board-level decision-making.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to gather inputs, develop recommendations, and drive execution of key initiatives.
- Track key decisions, commitments, risks, and dependencies, ensuring appropriate visibility, accountability, and timely resolution.
- Translate complex financial, operational, and strategic information into concise executive-level communications, recommendations, and presentations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, and working with Board of Directors, Joint Ventures or corporate strategy roles.
- Strong understanding of board governance processes and executive-level communications.
- Prior experience building board ready materials and executive ready narratives.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Smartsheet, and collaboration tools
- Prior experience in the power industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting budgeting cycles, financial planning, or corporate processes.
- Experience creating scalable budgeting and financial governance processes to support executive oversight and long-term business planning.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
- Experience working in high-visibility, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
- Ability to build and implement processes from the ground up.
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in high-transparency environments.
- Ability and willingness to work in ambiguous environments.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, or Finance
- MBA is preferred
Compensation
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a four month consulting engagement, with an expected hourly compensation rate of $90 - $100. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
