Sr. Consultant (Midsize Engagements)
Location: Remote (United States)
Role Overview
Internally here at Thunder, we refer to this role as Project Champion. Think of this role as a “General Manager” for smaller-scope, less-technical Thunder projects. You’ll wear several hats: mostly Solution Architect or BA, but with daily aspects focused as a Project Manager, you will be the primary onshore resource for multiple engagements at a time. You will also have support from other Thunder Capabilities, including PMO, Architects, Consultants, and Engagement Managers, to ensure you have the tools and resources to make your projects successful.
If you want to grow and develop in your ownership of a solution, in partnership with offshore and nearshore resources, this is your opportunity to build your Salesforce brand here at Thunder. This opportunity is a fantastic starting point to a number of career paths within Thunder: Solution Architect, Project Manager, Engagement Lead, Delivery Director, or even Pre-Sales!
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple, concurrent clients across all operational aspects of your projects — whether an active implementation or an ongoing managed services account
- Develop project plans and hold day-to-day responsibility for budget, schedule, and deliverables
- Prepare and communicate regular status reports to clients and internal Thunder stakeholders
- Build and maintain trusted, collaborative relationships with customer stakeholders that support long-term retention and renewal
- Translate business requirements into business process, business requirement documents and functional specifications
- Evaluate client’s business processes and identify opportunities for enhancement
- Own solution design decisions, collaborating with developers to review builds and confirm they meet business requirements
- Implement Salesforce functionality according to best practices; partner with clients on Training and UAT execution
- Work with global (offshore/nearshore) team resources to complete configuration for user stories within Salesforce or other cloud technologies
- Support new customer onboarding and knowledge transfer into managed services operations, including processes/workflows, training, and support portal setup
- Create and document change and enhancement requirements for accounts in a managed services model
- Bring a willingness to jump in and solution on new products, including Agentforce and emerging Salesforce capabilities
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of previous consulting experience within the Salesforce ecosystem
- 1-2+ years of experience owning solution design end-to-end, with depth in more than two Salesforce products: primarily Service + Sales Cloud
- Demonstrated ability and passion for project management — budget, schedule, risk, and resource management
- Confidence operating as the primary customer-facing leader, with demonstrated success partnering with near- and offshore delivery resources
- Deep understanding of Salesforce out-of-the-box features and implementation best practices
- A consulting lens — proactively identifying and solutioning customer needs rather than waiting to be asked
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows (Kanban, Scrum) and ability to advise clients on delivery methodology
- At least 3 active Salesforce Certifications: Salesforce Admin, Business Analyst, and Service Cloud Consultant preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
