Lead space planning and category management for CPG clients: develop and analyze retail data, create planograms and deliverables, manage projects and direct reports, engage clients, and implement merchandising standards using internal and third-party tools.
This position will work #hybrid, 3 days in the office.
You will lead the development and utilization of data that enables our sales team and broker partners to secure Category Advisor or Category Captain status with our customers. You also provide project management & coordination for Space Planning projects.
Responsibilities- Manage all activities involved in space planning and merchandising for the assigned categories for the assigned clients and customers.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate direct reports against completion of performance agreements, maintaining scorecards, and submitting success stories.
- Responsible for analyzing data to develop recommendations geared towards our clients and/or customers’ strategic objectives.
- Oversee the team’s preparation of space management client-deliverables to support category reviews, including charts, graphs, velocity reports, financial metrics, and planogram layouts.
- Engage regularly with clients to fully understand their needs; develop proposals to meet the client(s) and customer(s) expectations. Serve as the client’s advocate to Acosta to ensure our services and performance align with their expectations.
- Provide analytical support for category management projects and initiatives, including the development and maintenance of planograms, store clustering, implementing merchandising standards, and utilizing Acosta’s internal and proprietary tools; leverage automation capabilities wherever possible.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Retail or Consumer Package Goods (CPG)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Space Management solutions and Retail data analytics (i.e. Blue Yonder/JDA, Nielson, Circana, etc)
- Microsoft Office Suite applications (i.e. PowerPoint and Excel) is to conduct data mining utilizing syndicated data sources and CPG math concepts.
- Data analysis and project management background are a plus.
- Experience managing a team of varying skill sets and capabilities.
- Communicate clearly and effectively to manage projects while assuming responsibility for tracking, tollgates, team performance, and team accountability.
