The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Annuity Rate Setting team within our Consumer Markets Division’s Product Development department. This role is on-site 4 days per week and work from home 1 day per week in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC.

We're a small team that supports product competitiveness, rate recommendations, performance monitoring, and the business processes that help those activities run smoothly. We work with actuarial, finance, sales, investment, operations, and technology partners to help the business make informed decisions and execute effectively.

This role is a mix of process ownership, business analysis, coordination, and problem solving. You'll take ownership of several important team processes, help improve how we operate, support key business tools and capabilities, and work alongside highly analytical teammates who care deeply about getting things right.

The ideal candidate is organized, curious, dependable, and comfortable working in a quantitative environment. You should be willing to learn new concepts quickly, dig into details, and ask questions when something doesn't make sense.

How you’ll help move us forward

Process Ownership

  • Own and continuously improve several of the team's core processes, including rate setting, renewal rate submissions, and return reporting.

  • Coordinate timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables to help ensure work is completed accurately and on time.

  • Facilitate discussions, drive follow-through on decisions and action items, and help maintain accountability across teams.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, strengthen, and scale how we work.

Team Operations
  • Help establish and maintain team processes that support priorities, commitments, and deadlines.

  • Coordinate work across product, actuarial, technology, operations, and business stakeholders.

  • Support process improvements and key business initiatives.

  • Develop reporting and metrics that provide visibility into important work.

  • Build strong working relationships across stakeholder groups and help drive alignment on priorities, decisions, and commitments.

Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Maintain documentation, operating procedures, and knowledge-sharing resources.

  • Help organize team information and ensure key processes are well documented.

  • Support onboarding and knowledge transfer activities.

  • Promote consistency and good documentation practices across the team.

Business Tools & Technical Support
  • Help maintain and improve key business tools and reporting processes.

  • Partner with technical teammates on analytics, reporting, automation, and process improvements.

  • Support testing, documentation, and implementation of enhancements.

  • Develop sufficient expertise to provide backup support for critical team capabilities and business tools.

The experience you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related quantitative field.

  • 2-5 years of experience in business analysis, consulting, analytics, financial services, operations, or a related area.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across different stakeholder groups.

  • Ability to learn new concepts, tools, and processes quickly.

  • Comfort working in a quantitative business environment.
