Job Summary:
The Senior BIM Specialist/Designer supports the Design-Build Division by leading model setup, coordination, and implementation of BIM technologies such as Revit, and Navisworks. This role ensures adherence to company BIM standards, drives workflow improvements, and provides training and technical support to design teams. Working closely with the BIM Committee and Technology team, the Sr. BIM Specialist helps advance innovation and efficiency across the division’s projects.


Core Competencies:

  • Responsible for model setups and BIM Support to design staff in the division.
  • Responsible for carrying out and coordinating technology associated with the use of BIM (Revit, Navis, etc.)
  • Support development and continuous improvement of BIM standards coordinated and formed by internal BIM Committee (made up with BIM Automation Specialists and BIM coordinators).
  • Support the development and maintenance of company BIM standards for the development of parametric families and parametric content, primary discipline project work and deliverable setup.
  • Support the development and implementation of training curriculum for the design and CAD Technicians in the division.
  • Participates in project-based BIM strategies for major projects that will require unique integration tactics.  Also work closely with BIM Automation specialist and BIM Technology Manager for better and more efficient ways to continuously improve the workflow processes.
  • Participate in the Innovation Hub training and huddle sessions on a daily basis (10-15 minutes per day).
  • Supports Design for MEP for Engineering team as secondary responsibility to BIM setup

Qualifications:

  • High School Required
  • Technical Degree/Associates in CAD Technology preferred
  • 10+ Years BIM/VDC Experience with Revit, or equivalent
  • Construction Industry experience required
  • Preferred experience in Mechanical or Electrical Design
  • General understanding of P&ID, Systems Drawings, and generation of Spool or Isometric drawings

Location: (Remote – McAllen) – Reports to San Antonio, TX office    
Travel: <1%
