In this role, you will be responsible for approving vehicles for repossession and the collection of charged off debt. Provide support for inbound and outbound call operations and responding to debt validations while ensuring compliance with department policies, state and federal collection laws, as well as collection guidelines.
Responsibilities- Review repossession recommendations, approve or deny to reduce loss to the credit union, while exhausting skip trace efforts in order to locate vehicles.
- Monitor repossession agents to ensure timely vehicles recovery and prepare repossession notices.
- Respond to charged off member’s questions or concerns via phone or email.
- Work with debt settlement companies to negotiate settlements and follow up with vendors to address debt validations.
- Maintain working relationships with attorneys, vendors, and agencies that support collections and specialty areas.
- Manage charged-off inventory with accuracy and proactive oversight to ensure effective handling and resolution.
- Create and deliver informative reporting to show vendor performance.
- Research, evaluate, design, and test the need and development of process and product changes.
- Support with designing and implementing new reports, queues, views, or other enhancements in Akcelerant and manage communication with Akcelerant for successful project resolution.
- Participate in new and innovative projects to improve efficient servicing operations and success of strategy and collaborate with internal partners to accomplish department and organizational goals.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent - Minimum
- Bachelors Degree - Business, Finance or Related - Preferred
- 3 years - Collections or related - Minimum
- 4 years - Collections or related - Preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
Typical hiring range: $47,200 - $64,900 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
