Team & Work Scope
Join a small, highly collaborative database engineering team responsible for maintaining and modernizing the enterprise data platforms that support millions of consumers.
This hands-on role combines database administration, performance optimization, security, and reliability engineering across mission-critical environments.
You will partner closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and data engineering stakeholders to ensure our database platforms remain secure, scalable, and highly available.
Ideal Candidate: A hands-on database professional with deep SQL Server expertise who enjoys performance tuning, solving complex technical challenges, collaborating with engineering teams, and driving operational excellence across a diverse enterprise database environment.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Administer and support enterprise database platforms, including SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.
Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance, availability, and reliability.
Manage database installations, upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.
Support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including clustering, replication, backup, and recovery strategies.
Partner with development teams to review implementations, solve application performance issues, and improve database design.
Strengthen database security, access controls, monitoring, and operational processes.
Contribute to platform modernization and automation initiatives that improve scalability and operational efficiency.
Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical production systems.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED.
8+ years of progressive experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience, along with other database experiences such as MongoDB, MySQL or MariaDB.
Strong expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, security, backup/recovery, and Always On Availability Groups (AOAG).
Experience supporting databases in virtualized environments.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex database, application connectivity, and data integration issues.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder partnership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Nutanix or other enterprise virtualization platforms.
Experience with PostgreSQL administration and support.
Experience with SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures.
PowerShell scripting and database automation experience.
Experience with MongoDB replica sets, production upgrades, and monitoring tools.
Experience with MySQL/MariaDB replication and enterprise platform support.

Compensation: The annual salary offered will be in the range of $140,000- $160,000. Please ignore the range given below as that constitutes the entirety of the job profile range.
Annual Bonus: Eligible, and up to 20% of base salary

Work Environment: Except for our Customer Care roles which necessitates onsite work, most other roles are remote. AIP is a remote-first company; however, our roles are open to in-office or flex work if you live in a city with a physical office location
Physical Demands: We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings and office collaboration tools. Employees will have to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity machinery, as necessary. Employees must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication.
