Manage and grow a portfolio of NVO customers in Malaysia, build client relationships, create sales plans, provide market feedback, enable fast quotations, encourage web tools usage, and resolve customer challenges to achieve budgeted sales targets.
Drive the highest levels of quality towards the assigned NVO customers, be customer-oriented and create value for customers as well as for Hapag-Lloyd. Develop and grow a portfolio of NVO customers. Achieve NVO Budget for Malaysia.
- Establish and build client relationships with both locally controlled accounts and key overseas controlled accounts.
- Evaluate Customer potential, determine opportunities for growth
- Develop Sales plans for account portfolio
- Give feedback on the market including rates, competition activities, market conditions etc to all relevant stakeholders
- Provide clear information to Sales Co-ordination to enable fast quotation and free time requests.
- Encourage use of web tools and web quotations
- Develop expert knowledge of the competition and indutrsy and keep abreast of key changes.
- Ensure Sales foundation is followed
- Ensure Sales visit plans are prepared minimum two weeks in advance and updated in System
- Examine challenges and problems and generate possible solutions
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies, Logistics/Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial and/or customer service role, preferably within the maritime/shipping/logistics industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn new systems quickly; proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Outlook ) is preferred.
- Results-driven team player with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
- Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks under time pressure.
- Goal- and deadline-oriented, with strong follow-up and execution skills.
- Open to learning, able to grasp new ideas quickly, and committed to continuous personal development.
