The Solutions Consultant serves as a strategic advisor to Vanguard's Workplace Solutions business, leveraging deep expertise in technology, education, and process innovation to help achieve organizational goals. With a strong blend of IT proficiency and business insight, this role proactively uncovers opportunities where technology can drive meaningful impact.

As a trusted partner within the IT community, the Solutions Consultant collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to co-create solutions that align people, processes, and technology. They employ ideation techniques and experimentation frameworks to explore possibilities and guide strategic decision-making. Their work ensures that business processes are not only enabled by technology but are also continuously refined for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnering: Builds strong relationships with business and IT teams to align on priorities, advocate for change, and ensure shared understanding of technology solutions.

  • Solution Design: Translates business needs into strategic, cost-effective technology solutions, providing clear recommendations, delivery strategies, and compliance with IT standards.

  • Business & IT Alignment: Collaborates with leaders to align initiatives with strategic goals using research, design thinking, and architectural insights.

  • Organizational Influence: Promotes product-centric planning and capability-based thinking by leveraging knowledge of current and emerging technologies.

  • Capability Ownership: Manages the technology roadmap for business lines, supports long-term planning, and leads complex initiatives using research and design frameworks.

  • Standards Advocacy: Stays current on IT methodologies and ensures adoption of future-state architecture and technical standards.

  • Project Support: Contributes to special projects and other duties as needed to support innovation and business goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least three years of development experience.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Agile / Lean software development principals and the applications of such.

  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.

  • AI Strategy and Implementation experience preferred.

  • Strong planning, organizational and negotiation skills.

  • Broad knowledge of the financial services industry and Fintech industry.

  • Ability to adapt quickly, learn new things, evaluate issues, identify and validate problem areas, negotiate scope changes.
