The Solution Consultant role at Granicus is a strategic position designed for professionals who thrive at the intersection of business problem-solving, technical storytelling, and cross-functional execution. This is where public sector challenges meet transformative solutions—and you are the one connecting the dots.
As a Solution Consultant, you’ll own discovery and solution design for opportunities. You will guide government stakeholders through structured exploration of needs, and craft solution strategies that map to Granicus products, implementation realities, and agency mission priorities. You’ll partner with AEs, Solution Architects, and Product teams to design and deliver solution recommendations that influence outcomes and set the tone for long-term partnerships.
Granicus SCs are not generic demo specialists. They’re mission translators. They don’t just describe features—they build confidence in transformation. If you’re looking to level up from supporting to leading opportunities, this is the path forward.
About our team:
- We are a collaborative, mission-driven group of presales professionals who are driven by purpose, guided by curiosity, and committed to continuous improvement. We believe in the power of technology to improve lives. We partner closely with sales, product, and marketing to connect government agencies with solutions that create measurable impact. Our team values humility, creativity, and mutual support—and we celebrate small wins as much as major milestones.
- You’ll be joining a supportive environment where questions are encouraged, mistakes are part of learning, and continuous growth is the expectation.
How we show up to work:
- We approach every engagement with empathy, professionalism, and a deep respect for the complexity of public sector work. We show up prepared, curious, and ready to help—whether we’re collaborating with a teammate, leading discovery, or presenting a solution strategy. We believe how we show up matters just as much as what we deliver.
- We trust each other, give feedback generously, and strive to model integrity and thoughtfulness in everything we do.
What we're looking for:
- 2–5 years of experience in presales, consulting, solution architecture, or public sector SaaS
- Strong track record facilitating discovery and aligning technology to real-world customer needs
- Clear written and verbal communication skills across both technical and business stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to develop structured solution designs using templates, visuals, and narratives
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and collaborative solutioning environments
- A consultative, customer-first mindset and deep interest in public sector modernization
Key responsibilities:
- Own discovery and solution design for qualified opportunities across government verticals
- Facilitate structured discovery sessions with stakeholders to uncover goals, metrics, blockers, and context
- Translate customer needs into compelling, actionable solution designs that reflect product fit and implementation strategy
- Partner with AEs to shape opportunity flow—including qualification, stakeholder coverage, and demo alignment
- Work cross-functionally with Architects, Product, and Services to validate solution approaches and flag risks early
- Contribute to internal frameworks, configuration playbooks, and reusable content based on live deal experience
- Share insights from discovery and solutioning that inform messaging, product direction, or field enablement
How success is measured:
- Owns solution design and discovery across all assigned opportunities
- Produces clear, aligned solution documentation that supports seamless demo execution and proposal development
- Regularly receives positive feedback from AEs, Sales Managers, and SC Leaders on value and strategic contribution
- Contributes to internal improvement—templates, tools, retrospectives, or enablement—based on field experience
- Consistently demonstrates initiative, reliability, and cross-functional collaboration that elevate team performance
Don’t have all the skills/experience mentioned above? At Granicus, we are trying to build diverse, inclusive teams. We do not have degree requirements for most of our roles. If you don’t meet every requirement above but are excited to learn more, we encourage you to apply. We might just be able to find another role that could be a perfect fit!
