The Impact of a Front End Engineer on the Component Platform Team
As part of the Component Platform team, you will help build and evolve the Clarity component library, Coupa’s internal design system and React UI library that powers all Coupa applications. You’ll work closely with UX designers, accessibility experts, and engineers across multiple teams to deliver high-quality, consistent, and reusable UI components used by thousands of developers across the company.
You’ll directly impact Coupa's ability to build cohesive, performant, and accessible user interfaces at scale — enabling engineering teams to move faster with confidence and consistency.
What You'll Do:
- As a Front End Engineer you will be a part of the platform team developing software using React.js and CSS to build responsive pages with ease of use for our customers. You will complete complex assignments impacting the team output while designing, developing and maintaining features and functionality.
- Design, build, and maintain modern, reusable React components in Coupa’s shared UI libraries
- Collaborate with UX, accessibility (a11y), and product teams to align on design and interaction standards
- Help define and enforce React component standards: props, theming, accessibility, testing
- Partner with teams across Coupa to onboard and support their adoption of the component system
- Write documentation and usage guidance in Storybook, contributing to a world-class developer experience
- Improve CI/CD workflows and testing infrastructure for the design system
- Stay up to date with front-end ecosystem trends and identify opportunities to improve developer ergonomics
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to establishing and refining design tokens and theming architecture
What You'll Bring To Coupa:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2+ years of experience with front-end development using React.js or similar Javascript framework
- Strong understanding of CSS, design tokens, accessibility (WCAG/ARIA), and responsive design
- 2+ years of experience with CSS and building responsive pages with usability in mind
- Comfortable working collaboratively with a globally distributed team while having a growth-oriented mindset
- Bonus: Familiarity with component testing (e.g., React Testing Library, Storybook interaction tests)
- Bonus: Comfortable working in a monorepo or modular NPM workspace environment
- Bonus: Familiarity with npm package publishing, and GitHub Actions CI/CD
