We are seeking a Senior or Principal Software Engineer, Tech Lead who is excited about building inventory, supply chain and warehouse management systems that enable us to always fulfill our customers’ needs through accurate planning, optimization and analytics. Your primary responsibility will be to continually extend and improve our supply chain platform. The right candidate will have the technical aptitude to drive good technology choices through leadership, and mentorship of an empowered team. Success in this role will be measured by the team’s effective delivery of services. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions.
- Implement system and data monitors to ensure the correctness of the business process
- Contribute to multiple team-wide business and tech objectives (beyond just the goals assigned to you).
- Lead cross-functional projects in an agile environment, participate in planning process
- Scope, decompose, and organize projects for multiple teammates. Delegate tasks and coordinate teammates to bring those projects to completion with minimal oversight. Generate time estimates with reasonable accuracy to help determine project timelines.
- Support standard development practices across your team, including idiomatic syntax, design patterns, and Testing/Quality Practice
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science (or related field)
- Proven experience in a Senior or Principal engineering role with increasing responsibility
- Proficiency with SQL, Postgres, Go (golang)
- Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and their application in building Data-intensive applications that process high velocity data (millions of transactions) or high volume data (transactions impacting millions of records)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor a team, and lead without direction.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience acting in a Tech Lead capacity for a small team.
- Interested in continued career growth in a leadership role (manager or Principal engineer)
- Experience using Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions
- Experience in Inventory, Supply Chain, Warehousing or Logistics domains
- Experience with SQL data analysis (Snowflake/BigQuery), some familiarity of data pipelines
- Experience with Temporal or other distributed transaction framework
- Experience with message based, async processing
- Experience with Javascript & SPA technology in a production setting (ex: Vue, React)
- Public cloud experience in a production setting (Azure preferred)
Compensation
- Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Exceptions may be made for exceptional individuals. For additional information on this role’s compensation package, please reach out to the designated recruiter for this role.
- This role is eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus and participation in Gopuff’s equity incentive plan.
- This wide range represents the base salary for Senior and Principle engineers.
- Remote Base Salary Range: $160,000 - $225,000
