Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Drive the Design of Software solutions. Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Participate in production deployments for TAXES application using Service Now, Peer Testing, Peer Reviewing, Pair programming, retrospectives and presenting Demos at the end of sprint. Act as scrum leader during Standup calls to ensure team following the agile methodologies and processes and to make more effective.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 2 years (24 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Designing applications using Java/J2EE integrated with Spring framework; Developing applications integrated with ORM Hibernate to persist and retrieve connections from Oracle databases; Creating applications with a 3-tier layered architecture including the User Interface layer, the Application/business logic layer and the Database layer; Designing database schema structures for New regulatory reporting applications such as LATAM Regulatory reporting; Writing database queries using SQL; Building the source code using Maven to a compiled JAR file for deployment into the runtime environment; Deploying Java-based applications to cloud environments using Apache Tomcat; Maintaining source code and code branch structures in GIT and integrate with CI/CD pipelines; Constructing automated deployment piplines on Linux-based platforms using Shell Scripting and a Jenkins-based framework; Creating presentation layer and GUI-responsive development using UI and JavaScript frameworks including Angular, React, NodeJS, JSP, HTML5, and CSS, as well as prototypes using responsive frameworks including Bootstrap and jQuery; Designing SOAP and REST microservices with XML and JSON payloads; Performing unit testing on Java code to test functionality using Junit, Mockito, and PowerMockito; Developing test cases using Selenium and Junit, and perform Functional/Automated testing on the running application using Cucumber; Developing test cases to perform user interface testing using Jasmine and Karma; Performing manual/end-to- end/regression/user acceptance testing; Developing test cases to perform integration testing for RESTful webservices and perform stress testing using JMeter; Performing manual Smoke Testing in DEV/SIT environments every sprint; Developing applications adhering to Waterfall SDLC in conjunction with non-Agile teams; Developing applications and performing technical support tasks adhering to the Agile Hybrid ScrumBan SDLC methodology; Designing infrastructure stacks utilizing private cloud, public cloud, and dedicated assets for multiple applications; Containerizing applications using Docker and deploy them to a Kubernetes-based platform; Instrumenting applications and configure real-time performance monitoring and alerting using Dynatrace; Constructing application log monitoring and alerting using dashboards and queries in Splunk.
