Entry Level Software Engineer(s) (Full Stack)

Start Date: Summer 2026 | Location: Hybrid to our Philadelphia Tech Hub. Interviews are currently underway.

Due to unprecedented growth across our Health, Science, Technology, Research businesses, Elsevier is hiring a cohort of Entry Level Software Engineers to join our Philadelphia Technology Hub starting in Summer 2026 (Interviews are now underway). These are full time employee positions not internships.

As a Software Engineer at Elsevier, you will help design, build, and scale digital products used by healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, and institutions worldwide. Your work will directly support smarter, better informed clinical decisions, faster research discovery, and improved patient care through the power of technology and data.

What You’ll Do

As an Entry Level Software Engineer, you will be:

  • Developing and maintaining full-stack applications supporting our Health and Education platforms and products.

  • Collaborating with product managers, designers, data scientists, and senior engineers to deliver impactful solutions

  • Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code using modern programming languages and frameworks

  • Participating in Agile development ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

  • Contributing to cloud-based, scalable systems that support global users

  • Learning and executing industry best practices in software architecture, security, performance, and quality engineering

  • Helping translate complex business and healthcare needs into effective technical solutions

What We’re Looking For

  • Expected 2026 graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Desired  interest in building software for a mission-driven, global organization

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Academic or internship experience with some of the following:

    • Java, Python

    • React, Node.js

    • SQL

    • AWS and or Cloud Technologies

  • Understanding of or exposure to Agile software development practices

  • Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to learn and utilize new technologies including AI.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $71,600 - $119,400. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
