This role bridges business requirements and technical execution, translating product and operational needs into scalable, secure, and reliable system designs.

The Solution Architect I partners closely with engineering teams, product managers, and DevOps to ensure solutions are well-architected, observable, and aligned to platform standards. This role is hands-on at the design and enablement level, with a strong emphasis on Azure-native services, modern application architectures, AI-aware solution design, and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain production-grade software using modern development practices.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Design cloud-native solution architecture using .NET and Microsoft Azure services, following established architectural standards and best practices.
  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts such as solution diagrams, architecture decision records (ADRs), and design specifications.
  • Guide engineering teams during implementation to ensure architectural intent, security, reliability, observability, and performance goals are met.
  • Apply modern architectural patterns including API-first design and event-driven systems where appropriate.
  • Participate in design reviews, identifying risks, tradeoffs, and opportunities for simplification or reuse.
  • Support adoption of AI-enabled capabilities by incorporating appropriate Azure AI, data, and automation services into solution designs where approved.
  • Apply agentic AI and AI-assisted development techniques responsibly to improve developer productivity and solution quality.
  • Partner with DevOps teams to ensure solutions are designed for CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure solutions address reliability, scalability, security, and cost considerations from the start.
  • Continuously evolve architectural knowledge by staying current on Azure platform capabilities, architectural guidance, and industry trends.
Key Skills
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and system design fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience or exposure to Microsoft Azure services.
  • Experience designing or supporting cloud-native applications and APIs.
  • Experience architecting and developing .NET solutions (C#, ASP.NET, APIs, services).
  • Familiarity with modern frontend architectures, including React-based SPAs and TypeScript.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including data modeling considerations, performance tradeoffs, and data access patterns.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Awareness of observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering principles.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled application patterns or intelligent automation.
  • Ability to communicate technical designs clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in software development, systems engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Experience contributing to distributed systems or cloud-based application design.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams delivering production software.
