Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our firm. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing a wide variety of tax returns, supporting tax planning initiatives, and serving as a key point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate is technically strong, organized, and comfortable working in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for:
Individuals (Form 1040)
Partnerships (Form 1065)
S Corporations (Form 1120-S)
C Corporations (Form 1120)
Trusts and estates (Form 1041)
Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tax reporting
Identify tax planning opportunities and assist in implementing strategies to minimize client tax liabilities
Conduct tax research and stay current on tax laws and regulations
Communicate directly with clients to request information, answer questions, and provide guidance
Review work prepared by junior staff and provide mentorship and training
Coordinate and manage multiple engagements and deadlines during peak tax seasons
Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and correspondence
Support partners and managers with special projects and advisory services
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
CPA license or active pursuit of CPA required
3–6+ years of public accounting tax experience
Experience with a variety of tax return types (individual, business, and fiduciary)
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. We offer flexibility in managing your schedule to maintain a healthy work-life balance while meeting business needs.
