We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff Software Engineer or above to lead the design and implementation of scalable integration services for our Automation-Driven Open & Unified SecOps Platform. This is a critical role requiring deep expertise in API design, distributed systems, and backend engineering to connect our platform with a wide range of cybersecurity tools and third-party services to deliver our AI-driven SIEM, NDR, Open XDR, and Multi-Layer AI.
You will architect and deliver microservice-based solutions using RESTful, GraphQL, and streaming APIs, powering automation across the security operations landscape. Your work will support large-scale, distributed task execution and data pipelines while ensuring robust security and reliability. You’ll also play a leadership role in system design, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across product and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance API integrations for security products and platforms.
- Architect distributed systems to support large-scale task orchestration and real-time data processing.
- Extend integration capabilities of Stellar Cyber’s SecOps platform via reusable microservice components.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define integration requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, ensure reliability, and provide technical guidance.
- Champion best practices in backend architecture, API design, and secure coding.
- Drive automation, testing, and deployment through CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor junior engineers and help define technical direction and standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of backend software development experience, including 2+ years in a tech lead or staff engineering role.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Python, Go, or Java, with a strong foundation in building microservices.
- Hands-on experience with API integration tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI) and secure API design (OAuth, API keys, rate limiting).
- Strong background in distributed systems, message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), or orchestration frameworks (e.g., Celery, Airflow).
- Excellent system design, debugging, and communication skills.
- Experience in cybersecurity domains, including SOAR, EDR, SIEM, or XDR (preferred).
- Exposure to large-scale data processing, real-time pipelines, or event-driven architecture (preferred).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI is a plus.
