About the Role

Solutions Engineers (SEs) at Built are responsible for representing and delivering the most complex technical, financial, and workflow-driven aspects of Built’s platform. The Solutions Engineer, OGC specializes in supporting owners and developers by translating sophisticated real estate development and construction finance workflows into scalable, software-driven solutions.

This role blends deep technical aptitude, industry expertise, and consultative sales skills. As a trusted advisor, you will partner closely with Sales, Product & Engineering (P&E), and Client Success to ensure successful evaluations, implementations, and long-term customer success.

What You’ll DoPre-Sales & Solution Design
  • Own the technical evaluation phase of the sales cycle for owner and developer prospects, from discovery through solution validation
  • Partner with Sales to deeply understand and redesign complex real estate development workflows—including pre-development, construction, draw management, and reporting—within Built’s platform
  • Conduct detailed discovery to assess:
    • Current systems and tools (ERP, construction management, payments platforms)
    • Stakeholder pain points, gaps, and success criteria
    • Integration, reporting, and data requirements
  • Design and deliver tailored, high-impact product demonstrations for executive, finance, and operational stakeholders
  • Clearly articulate how Built’s solutions:
    • Improve operational efficiency and transparency
    • Reduce financial risk and administrative burden
    • Drive better outcomes for debt and equity stakeholders
  • Build and present ROI-based financial models that quantify value and business impact
Industry Expertise & Client Engagement
  • Establish credibility as a real estate development and construction finance expert with a strong understanding of:
    • Development and construction-phase financial controls
    • Owner and developer reporting requirements
    • Risk management and compliance considerations
  • Build trusted relationships with prospective and existing clients, including C-suite and senior leadership stakeholders
Post-Sales & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Support Client Success during implementation and post–go-live by helping resolve complex workflow, reporting, or integration challenges
  • Partner with Product & Engineering to:
    • Assess configuration and integration requirements
    • Share insights into recurring client pain points, emerging trends, and evolving owner/developer needs
    • Influence enhancements to reporting, monitoring, and controls specific to OGC use cases
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment across Sales, Product, and Client Success on:
    • Go-to-market messaging
    • Product positioning
    • Demo strategy and execution
Enablement & Thought Leadership
  • Contribute subject matter expertise internally through:
    • New hire onboarding and training
    • Ongoing sales and solutions enablement
    • Best-practice documentation and playbooks
  • Represent Built externally by:
    • Participating in national and regional industry conferences
    • Serving as a proptech and owner/developer solutions expert
      Sharing industry insights, lessons learned, and customer success stories
  • Support cross-promotion of Built’s owner/developer solutions alongside construction lending offerings for banks and non-bank lenders
What You’ll BringCore Skills & Experience
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly understand and explain complex systems and workflows
  • Prior experience in sales engineering, pre-sales, or consultative SaaS roles (proptech experience preferred)
  • Proven expertise as a demo professional, able to tailor presentations to diverse audiences and decision-makers
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Domain & Platform Experience (Preferred)
  • Experience with ERP platforms in real estate or construction environments, such as:
    • Yardi
    • Sage
    • QuickBooks Online (QBO)
    • MRI
  • Familiarity with construction management platforms, including:
    • Procore
    • Sage Intacct / Construction
    • Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Solid understanding of digital payments, draw processes, financial controls, and compliance requirements
  • Experience working in or adjacent to proptech or construction technology ecosystems

Built’s salary range for this position is $135,000-$150,000 USD per year plus commission. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Built will include equity, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, an unlimited PTO policy, and other benefits. Travel Requirement: This role requires approximately 15-25% travel, as needed to support business priorities.

Travel Requirement: Employees who are not based in the Nashville area are required to travel to our Nashville office at least twice per year for company gatherings, such as Connect Week. Additional travel to Nashville may be required based on your role and business needs.
