About the Position

As a Senior Engineering Manager for Hiya AI Phone, our rapidly growing flagship consumer application, you’ll lead a critical team responsible for reimagining the smartphone dialer experience through powerful AI-driven features. You’ll report directly to our VP of Engineering and manage a team of 5–8 engineers, shaping a culture focused on speed, innovation, and impact.

Your primary responsibility will be to foster an environment that prioritizes rapid delivery, tight feedback loops, and relentless experimentation. Success means empowering the team to confidently ship impactful AI-enhanced features that delight users through fast, focused iteration and continuous learning. Leveraging your deep technical expertise, you’ll mentor and guide the team, providing clear direction and helping to fill knowledge gaps where needed, so engineers can deliver their best work.

This role demands strong leadership, clarity in technical vision, and exceptional prioritization skills. You’ll thrive if you’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, making bold decisions, recovering quickly from setbacks, and iteratively driving product improvements based on customer feedback and business outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a full-stack engineering team—including mobile, backend, and AI developers—to rapidly design, ship, and iterate on AI-powered voice features across the entire product surface.

  • Foster a culture of continuous experimentation, enabling fast feedback loops and close collaboration with product, design, and AI teams.

  • Provide strong technical leadership across mobile (iOS/Android), VoIP, and backend systems—removing blockers, mentoring engineers, and guiding architecture.

  • Continuously evolve our development practices to reduce time-to-value, improve system reliability, and support scalable delivery across mobile apps and voice infrastructure.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams across mobile, backend, and platform domains, with a strong track record of delivering user-facing features at high velocity.

  • Technical depth to provide architectural guidance across mobile (iOS/Android), backend services, and telecom/VoIP systems—enabling informed decisions without needing to be hands-on.

  • Strong product instincts and the ability to translate strategic goals into clear technical direction, prioritized execution, and measurable outcomes.

  • A bias for action, a growth mindset, and the leadership skills to drive cultural change toward rapid iteration, continuous delivery, and fast learning loops.

  • Practical understanding of generative AI technologies—including LLMs, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks—with the experience needed to guide architectural choices and set realistic expectations.

More Details

The On Target Earning (OTE) for this role is between $150,000 - $270,300. When determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered: skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.
